For whatever reason video games just don't translate to good movies which is crazy considering many video games have really compelling story lines.

Halo could be a billion dollar franchise if they ever choose to make it and do it correctly.

That's probably b/c it seems like the writers and directors of game movies seem to have never even played the game and have an open disdain for key elements of their storylines and characters.
It's not all that different than what used to always happen to comic movies TBH.

They translate well to a Netflix or HBO-type series though.
So far, the only one that's tried something like that is Machinima with Mortal Kombat and Netflix with Castlevania. There was an anime version of Devil May Cry that went 12 episodes but they quit after one season.
