Actor David Cross is not a racist, but you white Southern rednecks probably are...

It's not that I think David Cross is an actual racist. I think he's a ridiculously funny comic actor. It's that I think he thinks we Southern men are. I think he's convinced of it, beyond all doubt. You see, in his mind, he "escaped" the South and moved to Hollywood and left all that human degradation behind. But those of us who remain, are obviously racial troglodytes awash in a sea of racial animus directed at our Asian brothers and sisters.
Every single one of these "cultural moments" are exactly the same thing. Progressives virtue-signaling while imagining the very worst of those around them. See, they are pure, while we are in need of the moral redemption, that only they can bestow upon us.
Eat each other, Progs. The day is young.

I was listening to one of the XM comedy channels a couple months ago and heard a David Cross bit from about 15 years ago. It was hilarious because he was ranting about how all Republicans were trying to take away all the rights of women and minorities. They've been ranting about the same nonsense for decades and absolutely none of it has come to fruition.

Run Ronnie Run was probably his best work. And sadly, that portrayal was probably exactly what he thinks everyone in the South is like.

We've got our share of classic redneck racists for sure; but they can point to many instances of Race-based, real life scenarios that supports their supposedly Racist stereotypes. It is only Black (stereotypical and racist) behaviors that can lend legitimacy to such assessments.
Bottom line. A lot of Southern "Rednecks' are straight up and scoff at PC. They will NOT accept and become indignant and even contemptuous re a DOUBLE STANDARD re Black v White behavior, and the (politically-employed) designation of being Racist when common standards are applied to specific Race Classes or individuals. That is called honesty. And the real Racism is the idea that Blacks can not live by/up to the same moral standards that Whites can. Screw that bigoted bs.
That said...it is harder being Black...for obvious reasons. But that is just a challenge and opportunity to excel...and not a rationale for laziness and a moral pass.
MLK settled this stuff way back. Too bad He ain't here to remind everybody that it's not the color but the character that is the metric of moral virtue and societal worth.

I'm not buying it. Look 10 years ago we didn't have the outcry and protesting such that we do now. Race relations has gotten worse and Cross wants to be on the side of it that aligns with his beliefs.
Too many times these celebrities give shitty excuses and it comes off making them look worse. All he had to say was. Yeah I probably shouldn't have done that and I have since made it a point to be careful on what jokes I make.
I don't think Cross is racist either I just think the climate in this country is volatile right now and everyone is playing defense.
