I know this is probably a dumb question, but then again, on here almost any question is a dumb e question guaranteed to elicit insults. However, and in all sincerity, can any one provide some insight into what was supposed to have transpired between Alleva and Orgeron regarding the team's play? What is the story behind Coach O second guessing the coordinators and dissension among the coaches?

I'll hang up and wait for the insults. Ten, nine, eight, ....

I don't have any inside scoop but will say that people slammed O for meddling in Canada's offense. Right or wrong, he is the head coach and I personally feel that O asking to simplify it (injured RB, freshman on the OL, etc) was a very reasonable move given the difficulty the offense was having.

People around here made it sound like O was "taking over", and crap like that, when in fact, it was more of O trying to make a few adjustments based on their struggles.

Now, after listening to Canada's remarks on the matter, and in hindsight, it probably wasn't the right move. But the decision to try and simplify it for the OL (again 3 freshman) was sound methodology.

He told Oregeron to stop messing with the offense. It seems Orgeron ran the offense the first half of Troy game, and Canada ran it the second half.

That's what O said

Players were saying we were running plays from Last year.

That's a huge difference.

Alleva neutered Orgeron... Basically told him he's a figurehead and HC in name only, and that he is not authorized to meddle with Aranda and Canada's game plans, practice routines and playcalling.

The worse thing that happened last year was Ensminger's offense going off the last part of last year.
O of course is loyal to Ensminger and it did help him get the job
It's when you have a coaching change you are better off starting over with a staff
Canada comes in, offense struggles, some of it not understanding system, some of it injuries - so O tries to go back to Ensminger's offense for Troy and looks foolish. No reason for first play from scrimmage being Brosette run up the middle.

Alleva has to reset things based on what the binder was supposed to do.

Alleva looks like a genius but everyone still wants him run out of town.

With Alleva's touch, don't be shocked if he's like Cuban behind the bench for hoops, calling pitches for Dunn later this spring, and coaching up the goalies on the soccer team. DD Breaux is not going to let him near the gymnastics team though.

It's reasonable if the coach knows two licks about offense, at least relative to a career OC, which Orgeron does not.

Most other HCs would trust that an OC that's had success in CFB knows best how to utilize his personnel.

Nobody knows what happened in that room besides the four men in attendance.
In the end, the meeting wasn't and isn't the catalyst of the teams' improvement.
The players made the change that counts. Their pride got damaged, they got questioned by former players and they responded by stepping up their game.

Well stated. I think the old baws lit a fire under their butts and motivated them.

It's all a bunch or rumors and probably nothing more than to see what level of commitment was there

Looks like the players had more to do with it than Alleva

He's paying Canada and aranda as much as he is O and he knows they are both more Important to winning than O. He told O to take the play sheet and put in the garbage and pick up his pom poms.
He only did this because his Own job is in jeapardy

It's almost like this board is for discussion, debate and speculation.

Weird.

At least one of them has spoken publicly about it, and two others leaked the details anonymously.

Process of elimination makes it real easy to determine where the narrative came from.
