You said terrible.
Peterman - 185-of-306 60.5% 2,855yds 27 TDs 7 Ints
237 395 60.0 2,662 6.7 20 6 130.3

a 30+ point differential in passer rating is a huge difference idc how much you want to spin it or not even show it when you compare the two lol.

No spin. Just facts. Exact completion percentage. Similar in Ints and yards. The diff is attempts and 7 more TDs. You said terrible. Thats not facts.
Peterman 185-of-306 60.5% 2,855yds 27 TDs 7 Ints
Brissette 237-of-395 60.0% 2,662yds 20 TDs 6 Ints
Verdict is, both were successful. Canada does well with both.
I'm not trying to argue. Just that to suggest that Canada did "terrible" with Brissette is simply not true.

You keep ignoring facts, would you say Brandon Harris was equal to Zach Mettenberger? Because they had the same amount of distance in their ratings as Peterson and Brissett. If all you care about are yards and TDs then to you there's no difference between Tom Brady and Blake Bortles.

Totally different conversation. You said that Canada was terrible with Brissett. Thats not true. If you start another thread about Mett and Harris, I'll comment there about them.

Can u imagine the qb from syracuse in this offense? But etling is the man and is improving each game

No it's not and I didn't say Canada was terrible I said Brissett was. If you think a QB who had a passer rating lower than Brandon Harris in 2015 is a great QB you're insane.

Again. Do you really believe that Brissette was "terrible" because he QBR was 130?

His numbers prove he was your opinion doesn't matter.

I like Dungey alot. Kid is a gamer. I agree, Etling is a fighter.

40ppg last year at Pitt with a pocket passer. Canada doesn't want or need a duel threat QB Brennan will be perfect for his offense and Etling is just fine.
What Canada's offense really appears to need is a quick decision making accurate passer with decent feet. His "option" play is really the jet sweep as well as the run/shovel/quick pass option.
Basically, what he needs is Brennan + Etling's experience.
Brennan is a quick decision maker who is accurate but, he's also prone to freshman mistakes(see INTs). Etling is USUALLY a more judicious decision maker but he's fricking slow getting rid of the ball and, his accurate over the middle is questionable.
We have Canada's perfect QB on the team. Unfortunately, it's two people and they can't occupy the same body. LOL.
I think we'll be fine with Brennan if he's the guy next year. That said, I wouldn't be stunned if Narcisse pressed for the job also. There's really no way to know because we haven't seen him on a college field. But, it's possible the gap this year between him and Brennan isn't gaping.

He’s called a couple plays where Danny ran for a few yards pretty easily. I think a true dual threat would be lethal in his offense.

Ok

Exactly he's going to run the read option in specific situations only not as a pillar of his offense.

I agree for the most part. I'm in the minority on a few things. I don't believe MB is perfect QB for this offense. He is however the heir apparent. I would be stunned if Narcisse hangs around through spring next year.
The difference in abilities may not be gaping, I believe the difference in the investment in their development is gaping.

He had Chandler Harnish at NIU in 2011 and he was one of the nation's leaders in total offense per game. Great dual-threat QB.

I don't believe MB is perfect QB for this offense.
quote:People say this but I think that would be VERY premature. QBs that "look" like the starter flame out all the fricking time. And there's literally NOTHING between Narcisse and the job other than Brennan. It's not like transferring is a guaranteed start elsewhere unless you go to Podunk U.
I would be stunned if Narcisse hangs around through spring next year.
quote:That's conjecture and frankly, wouldn't make any coaching sense.

Any coach with half a brain know what I already wrote above. They know you can't just assume Brennan will be successful.
There's no reason to believe that they aren't pressing Narcisse as much as Brennan. Any good coach knows competition in practice is a very healthy thing.

To be clear, you're saying Jacoby Brisset was terrible in college because of his 130 QB rating?
What do you think of Etling's 135 last year?

The ideal QB can...
Have a canon arm that’s extremely accurate
Think fast under pressure
Read defenses and get you in the right play
Run like Fran Tarkington
Run powerfully like Tim Tebow
Be a great leader
The thing is, that QB has never been made. Hall of Fame QBs have gotten by with only three of those attribuutes. So yes, a dual threat QB would be great. But it’s hard to find dual threat QBs who have all those other attributes. Inevitably you have to settle.
