Not a fresh topic but: why in God’s name did Nebraska run off Pelini?

Dude was an automatic 9-10 wins.
And take a look at post-Pelini. He was better than Callahan as well.
Just a terrible move.

Sounds an awful lot like a certain SEC school. Run off a 9-win coach and hire a buffoon...

he was a hot head but always had solid teams
I am confused as well
From what I heard the administration didn't Get along with Bo
Nebraska needs to be a perfect example of what happens when you run off successful coaches and hire unknown/unqualified ones

Everybody wants Saban and Meyer and it's stupid. There is nothing wrong with 9-3 football at most schools. That said, I think he had some bad blowouts and people were upset that this supposedly defensive minded guy got torched a lot.

Because he reflected poorly on the University.
Nebraska likes to pretend they are noble statesmen and the best fans who hug opposing fans in congratulations if Nebraska loses.
Dr. Tom - that stoic myth of a Professor who just happens to coach football on the side...
The mythologoy of the walk-on policy...we just play people who want to play...we don't shady recruit.
Pelini reversed all that. He was seen as a Ogre on the sidelines and an a-hole.
At Nebraska you can't berate the officials NON-STOP all game long on National TV.
Oh and then he called out the fans - I mean really, calling out Nebraska fans for booing his boorish behavior is one of the lamest things you can do. Nah, Bo...they should have applauded your embarrasing antics on the sideline.
