She'll head to msnbc or cnn
Have any of y'all ever watched MSNBC or CNN? It is literally nothing but white folks and Don Lemon hosting those shows. And he's whiter than all of them. As liberal as they may seem to be, they simply don't have black women headlining their shows.

Racist she is. Hope she never gets a job again
You are correct but there will always be a place for her. It is pretty much the path things have been going.
She will have her own show on a different channel where she can go full tard at will

So it sounds like despite less actual ESPN subscribers, the ratings are seemingly roughly the same?
Not saying the show will or should stick around but I'd almost count that as a W for SC6, no
Not when you compare the extreme amount of show specific advertising that ESPN has done to try and cram SC6 down that throats of their subscribers.

I'd expect about 300k tvs turned on to any channel by accident.
Based on what?

based on that being 1 out of 1100 people in the country.
At 6 in the evening that many people would pass by espn every minute just because they'd be thinking "What's on espn?"

If they take out the numbers from the places like Sports clips, and Just 4 Him that run ESPN all day on all their screens the number would be much lower. Imagine how many places put ESPN programming on all day with nobody really watching.

The show sucks so bad she had too stir up controversy to make her exit look like it was ESPN and not her

wonder if that 6.9 percent increase was worth the harm that show did to the overall brand of ESPN
That 6.9% increase was for 1 week. Most weeks are declines. Some up to 20% decreases

The article makes it sound like it's similar, sometimes up, sometimes down, sometimes similar.
Anyone have the full year compared to this point last year?

From my vantage point the problem is ESPN put two people who I dont care about on at 6PM and they offer nothing of interest to me. So I dont watch it. Their take on subjects that have been beaten to death all day are not remotely interesting to me at all.
his and hers was kind of cool because they bantered on a lot things besides sports. trying to take that format and have them banter about sports doesnt work.

But is this what ESPN was shooting for? Flat ratings or down a bit? As someone else mentioned, they spent a shitload of money marketing the show. I'm sure they had high expectations for it, but it's turned into too much of a pain in the arse for them, IMO. I don't think they ever imagined the kind of backlash they would receive for doing the show.

They should have built this thing around SVP and not these 2 clowns. For your flagship program to only be basically limited to only being able to talk the NFL and NBA was just stupid. The political shite aside, there was no reason to tune in because I don’t value the opinions of either of the hosts.
But eould you really value the opinion of any host in that spot? There is a reason why SVP only has one real opinionated segment in the "one big thing." A sport's anchor's job is to present highlights and not opinion. ESPN's swung and trying to mix opinions with highlights but it is obviously failing. And ultimately, Jemele isn't doing her show any justice by not being able to keep her politics to herself.

How the hell have viewers increased? That makes no sense.
