Didn't know he was leaving, he just got here. It takes time to install a complicated offense. It will only get better, especially with our young QB's.

Hey everyone... Slackster is not fully on board yet!
Does anyone give a shite?

Usually not a good sign when you and the head coach have to be pulled apart.

On one hand, I'm very wary because it's obvious 'Ole Miss Oregeron' made an appearance. That wasn't supposed to happen.
On the other hand, I've seen SOME good things and seeing them come to fruition in this game was refreshing. And, most importantly, when it looked like a blowout in the making like MSU the reaction of the team and coaches was completely different. Neither the players on the field or coaches on the sideline gave the vibe of 'we just can't do shite' or 'we really aren't good enough'.
At some point they said to themselves, if we try harder we can do this because we are good enough. It's a huge delta from the vibe in the MSU game.

and the Donte drop on the pick 6. Auburn could have been the team on the end of a beating.

Guice showed flashes of figuring out where to find lanes in the offense as well. He looked like he's getting back into last season's form.

Apparently you do.

We will beat Bama and Auburn will too

Great win yesterday. Showed lots of guts and character. I think our offense is still s little too reliant on the big play. Seems like with the OL and QB being limited we continue to struggle to maintain drives. It’s more big play or bust. Hope we figure that out for the stretch ahead

as long as orgeron doesn't do any coaching and lets his coordinators coach the tigers will be fine

Well said.

Hats off to the staff for keeping the players engaged and tweaking things schematically to improve From where we started to now. This was always going to be a bit of a rebuild, we only returned 7 starters from last year that's less than half of what we returned in 08. Right now we are playing our best and are close to playing elite level football. We need more consistency between the tackles and we need an intermediate WR who can get open and convert 3rd and 4-7 yards. Get in the gun to create lanes for Guice in the run game and use Derrick Dillon in that Welker/Edelman role converting third downs.

I agree that this staff has done an incredible job over the last two weeks. Not sure what it all means going forward but they get an A+ on that stretch.
There is no reason to frame this season as a "rebuild." I can name eight returning starters on offense alone (KJ, Clapp, Toby, Chark, Moore, Etling, Moreau, and Guice - they all started and/or played extensively in '16)

Couldn't agree more with you. We were not just good but dominant in the 2nd half yesterday. That was elite.

I've said it a ton, but I hate our base offense. It takes limited players and gets even less out of them. We're far more efficient out of the shotgun, but we're seldom in it.

Just my opinion (and absolutely no data to substantiate it) but I think Canada wanted to grow the offense. But O panicked and interfered when the O didn't mature as fast as he wished it to. And now, we're probably 1-2 weeks behind where Canada anted us to be.
I think we will see it get noticeably better as the season progresses.

agree 100%. if O can prove he can recruit in the trenches as a HC I think he can do alright and certainly better than Miles in his last 5 years or so. the FACT is, the state of Louisiana does not produce enough talent to field a top 5 team that wins titles. we have to get enough OOS guys and sign MOST of the top guys in the state to we challengers.

quote:Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't, but it sure as hell doesn't if the best of it keeps going to Alabama. That's Orgeron's challenge. He was handcuffed by the uncertainty of the coaching situation last year and he lost some important ones, but this year we should see some indication of how well he does at fixing this major problem.

Somebody please let the team know that slackass is withholding his support until the team plays up to his standards.
