Understood. The whole point of my post was to state the opinion that the frickup that is the O and Alleva show does not alter the opinion that the obstinate Miles offense had run its course.

Absolutely people really underestimate how much of an amateur Alleva is in the world of college football. You add that to his big mouth and you get what we got.

Nothing abstract about it if you didnt already know that O wasn't the target without me announcing it then you shouldn't be talking about this subject.

That's the best post you've ever done.

Les should never have been fired UNLESS we had a coach better than SABAN ready to cone on board
I enjoyed being ranked #2 in the country going into mid November
I have never actually heard it put this way...and I have to agree.

i think that was the third option. Do you know Alleva
whats really messed up is that even casual lsu football fans could see the importance of this head coaching hire and how lsu was at a very critical stage of going down or getting back to our 2003-2011 days
and our clown takes a massive gamble on a career position coach that has never even been a successful coordinator, let alone a succesful head coach.

All I want is for all the Jimbo lovers to realize that he is no better than Les.
Anyone pay attention to his record in the ACC?
Anyone see what happens to him after losing to Saban

He's the coach man. He was evidently one of the plans.
I'm just not brilliant enough to discuss this with you. I get it.

There aren’t enough upvotes in the universe for this.
Sometimes I feel like I’m taking crazy pills when I hear the “the plan didn’t work out” argument. Even if Alleva wasn’t a moron, there is still a chance that we end up with Orgeron as our coach.
And if there’s even a chance of that happening, you don’t fire a guy who is averaging 9 wins a season.
Les only “needed” to be fired if Herman or Jimbo was a lock. They weren’t. LSU gambled and we all lost.

No brilliance needed just common knowledge but since being a jerk seems like your purpose then I agree don't discuss it with me.

This is true if you wanted minor changes which can be the only reason it wasn't a total house cleaning then keep Miles hire Canada and literally force him to change. I know it's been said that's happened in the past and Miles just refused but if you fire his OC and bring in your own without involving Miles in the decision it may have driven the point home more clearly to Les. Ogeron is doing the same exact thing Miles was so I don't see how doing that would've hurt us anymore than where we ended up.

The plan wasn't to hire O why can't people remember things that happened less than a year ago?
I'm starting to believe that was alevas actual plan from the beginning unless O royally fricked up. Look at the Florida game. O should never have been considered after that fiasco.
Why wasn't the question asked last year about wasn't anyone else actually interviewed.

The people that think that Jimbo is better than Les just hasn't been paying attention. Look at his ACC Record, look what happened to him this year after playing Saban
Les Miles was a damn strong successful football coach that couldn't beat Saban
Jimbo is in that category except I put my money on Miles if He's coaching against Jimbo
Would you rather a coach that can go undefeated in the SEC with Jordan freaking Jefferson as QB or a guy that can win a Natty with Jameis Winston?
I'll take Les any day
Herman???
Les was the winningest coach in LSU history? Herman shouldn't be in the same sentence as Les

I agree if hedve won every game then he should've been considered but he lost to Bama and choked the Florida game away. Who cares that he beat Arky and Ole Miss that's supposed to happen. But from every piece of information out there it's safe to say Herman and Jimbo were our targets and O was a backup plan.

IMO, all we really needed were minor changes. The only legit issues were the QB and occasional clock management issues. LSU was solid everywhere else for an entire decade under Miles. So yeah, force him to take on a new OC and I think we would have been fine.

I personally agree. I would have opted to keep Les over both of them.
But, if the “plan” is to fire Les, I’m saying you absolutely don’t do that unless you’re certain you can get your first or second option. We basically fired the winningest coach in our school’s history and turned around and said, “whelp, let’s go see who we can get to replace him”. That was the plan apparently.

Could tell me the offensive coordinator that had 2 1000 yard receivers and 1 1000 yard rusher in the same year??
It's only happened once in SEC history?
Wasn't a Steve spurrier coached team

Lol Spurrier has probly had 10 offenses avg more points and yards than that year. It was an impressive season but comparing Cam Cameron's offenses to Steve Spurriers is kinda silly.
