You’re an idiot if you really want to some up the confederacy into slavery fighting.

Over 30,000 FREE black men fought for the south.

95% of confederate soldiers didn’t even own a slave, you really think they were laying their lives down for the top 1% of people who did?

It had a lot more to do with tensions already brewing at the time. The north and the south were like two different countries with the south paying for 75% of both country’s bill.

Do some research before you make such a stupid claim.

You've convinced me.

Now, not only would I like to see more NFL Kneelers BUT I WANT EVERY KNEELER TO ALSO WAVE A CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG AS THEY KNEEL DURING THE U.S. NATIONAL ANTHEM.

The flag code has no legal teeth to force you to do anything.

The south peacefully succeeded because we were being unfairly taxed and didn't receive our fair share of representation for it

Then Lincoln sent his gunthugs and we had to defend ourselves

I find it hilarious I see so many people saying individuals deciding to take a knee as a symbolic way of highlighting inequality are disrespecting the country. But have no problem whatsoever with people proudly celebrating confederate flags and symbolisms which represent treason to the highest degree.
What you're saying has some merit tbh, but you're generalizing all anti-kneeling people as being pro-confederacy which just isn't true. I personally don't like the kneeling and I think it's disrespectful. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it just like those guys are entitled to kneel. However, I don't own or wave rebel flags and burn crosses. For me it's not a race thing, it's an American thing.

When you wake up from your illusion about the causes of the civil war read this.

LINK

a Quote from the speech given by the VP of the Confederacy

"The new constitution has put at rest, forever, all the agitating questions relating to our peculiar institution -- African slavery as it exists amongst us -- the proper status of the negro in our form of civilization. This was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution."

I mean this is a guy blaming NBR on racism:

quote:

Racism is the main reason why NBR has declined bottom line. White people are generally in control of the economy and they have by and large chose no longer to invest in NBR (or most of BR) due to once again the lack of whites in the area. Even the private predominately white schools in NBR (Redemptorist, St. Isadore, etc) are closed down, white people have totally abandoned the area.
LINK

Instead of moving to safer neighborhoods, whites should have just stayed and been robbed and murdered. . .because. . .equality?

crime=>falling property value=>white flight

Oh, and we should pour money into NBR.

But we can't improve anything or own any part of our investment. . .because that would be gentrification, which is also racist.

I'm so sick of hearing people's stupid opinions on this issue. The horse has been beaten into a pile of mush. Do you think you are saying something insightful or that hasn't already been said and discussed a million times? Nobody is stopping you or anyone else from kneeling. Kneel all you want and quit your bitching when people who think your protest is stupid and pointless react according to their opinions.

When I go to Wendy's, I'm not interested in hearing what the staff thinks about politics. Much the same for professional athletes. There opinions are worth as much to me as my local fry chef. If they use their time at work to make political demonstrations they will naturally turn customers away. The issue is really between the business and the employees. If the business is ok with the protests then problem solved. But customers are at liberty to take their time and money elsewhere as a result.

It's mind boggling to me that people keep mentioning "CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT!" as if it has some relevance to this subject. Congrats on letting everyone know you have no idea what you're talking about.

It amuses me they cry "I have a right to protest"

But when their protest is protested, the other guy apparently lacks the right.

Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from disagreement.

I don't care what good 'ole grandpaw told you ... the CONFEDERACY FOUGHT AGAINST THE UNITED STATES b/c they wanted to keep slavery and the newly elected U.S. President (Lincoln) didn't.

Read a book truth87... One of the determining factor for us wanting to succeed wasn't slavery in and of itself. More the unfair agriculture taxes the Fed was attempting to place on us. No doubt, the issue could have been solved without bloodshed, that fault lies with both North & South.
