Politics...maybe....hmmm
I think part of it is...O wants to play HIS guys. Not saying that's right or wrong, but we sure are playing a lot of freshman that don't know what they are doing. Obviously, it's strange.

No. I think there is too much politics involved at LSU and boosters are influencing who starts...
And this is the result...you lose to Troy....and your player doesn't look good and doesn't get drafted to the NFL either...

My friends!
My only friends around here are Ws in the win column. So I'm extremely lonely at the moment.

Maybe the freshmen are better than all the "experienced" 4 star guys who have barely stepped on the field since being here. Aside from KJ and Toby, the interior guys are all 5 games in their new positions. Clapp slid over from OG to C...not as easy a transition as most make it out to be.

Yep and what about the half dozen that transferred or left this year??
They are playing or riding the bench for schools like McNeese St., SELA, Tennessee State, Miami and Tyler Junior College. A lot of 4 star talent that moved on to bigger stages apparently.

You said a mouthful with a mouthful, brother!

Recruiter Rankings are bullshite and inflated for those with the money to pay for football camps...etc....
I've seen many 4 stars that didn't amount to crap on the college level....and some high ranked recruits that didn't make an NFL team...

Fake news. Breakdown the roster by recruited OL position, use your stars that you love, career starts/games played (true measure of "experience"), years in the program and position they play.

Every time one of these threads is posted, there are posts like this saying but, but, but you didn’t consider this. Go look at this, go pull these stats. Then a day or so later someone posts a thread addressing the new issue and the goalposts move again.
For once, why don’t you do the leg work and prove your point rather than just constantly asking OP to change his analysis or add new fields.

they need to recruit from places that produce lineman. Go to Wisconsin, California, Iowa. Get those big farm kids, red shirt them and coach them up as a unit. They will be scholastically eligible, non-criminal, unit oriented, and they will play together for four years.

Your obvious skimming over the details is telling....one of the other "starters" is a true freshmen —Ingram
the opponent was TROY.
youth IS NOT a valid excuse against Troy and miss st.
quote:
And yeah...I expect two true freshmen to have a tough go against two experienced DL for even Troy...
well that's dumb as frick.
quote:
See that wasn't so hard...
no shite because being wrong is easy.
only football ignorant poster would claim youth and inexperience against troy

I agree with you...I have no idea why those two freshmen are starting
then why bring it up as an excuse?

Because I already know the answer and I don't even need to look at or evaluate other teams' "experienced, highly ranked" OL starters/depth. By using HS recruiting stars and how many years they have been on the team sitting the bench and not playing does not qualify said players as being= talented and experienced. That should be pretty easy to compute, even for you.
Posted on 10/3/17 at 9:54 pm to Le Tenia
So where’s your quantitative analysis pointing to LSU’s lack of talent or experience on the lines? If you already know the answer it should be easy enough to make your point using a few easy to find data points.

Only excuse.... O sucks as a HC.

, you agree there is a major talent/depth problem? Why were you pretending that wasn't the case?
against decent sec teams.
not miss st and troy.
and no its not a major depth issue until we sustain injuries.

both team were handling our starters. from beginning to end. tht has frick all to do with depth.
quote:
I'll never figure out why you'll be dishonest in your assessment of the team simply because you want to make Orgeron look bad.
its only a dishonest statement of you have no clue about the rest of cfb. there are dozens of programs with less talent than lsu and they field a decent oline.
quote:
don't need to pretend that we don't have OL talent issues like you and the OP though.
for the millionth time. no one is denying There are issues with experience and depth BUT thats against decent sec teams NOT A SEC BOTTOM FEEDER AND TROY.
im sorry you cant understand that.
quote:
The truth is this. Until those freshman mature into solid players (they are probably a year away from that at best) we are going to have significant OL problems...
again, do you know how many programs would kill for our 2 deep oline roster?
quote:
It could easily be 2 years (assuming solid recruiting) before LSU fields an above average SEC OL.
so we go from having one of the best olines in 2015 & 2016 now we are no where near average?
sound like coaching.

KJ has 5 starts LT in '17; 0 starts in '14 (5 games LT, 65 snaps) & '15 (12 gm, 62 snaps) & 12 starts in '16
Brum has 5 starts LG; 0 starts in '15 & '16, 160 total snaps
Clapp 5 starts at C; 12 starts LG, 11 starts RG
Ingram 4 starts RG; played in 5 games
Charles 2 starts RG/RT; played in 5 games
Weathersby 4 starts RT; 12 games in '15 (1 start RT) & 8 games in 16' (3 starts RT)
Cushenberry 0 starts; 0 snaps in '16, played in 3 games
Magee 0 starts; 3 games in '16 (no snap count), played in 4 games in '17
Savage 0 starts; 0 snaps in '16, played in 3 games in '17
Declaus 0 starts; played in 5 games
Pretty easy to figure it the frick out that it is a work in progress. That's all I need to know. I don't need to look at anybody else's teams to see that the we don't have an "experienced" line despite the ranking star gazers.

This is dumb.
no its not. troy HAS ZERO TOP 95 CLASSES and pushed us around from the 1st snap. stop acting like thats a talent or depth issue.
quote:
Do you think Sadiiq Charles or Ed Ingram are legit starters? Do you think Adrian Magee is a legit starter?
you clearly dont pay attention to other programs.
quote:
What world do you live in?
the world where we only lost 1 starter AND IT WAS AGAINST TROY.
good god you cant be this stupid.
talent and depth are valid against teams that recruit close to us.
Miss St has 1 25 class since 2014
troy has zero top 95 classes since 2014.
but sure keep acting like depth and inexperience are valid excuses against those programs
the fact that youre on here saying depth is a valid excuse against Miss st and troy tells me all i need to know about your football knowledge.
