Deculas is the one that sprang Lanard F on his TD run in the spring game....he blew his man back about 5 yards....

What world do you live in? Weathersby didn't play on Saturday. Donavauhn Campbell was out for a while. Magee was out for a while. Even Clapp was pretty questionable heading into the season even though he has held up.
so 1 of our STARTERS was out for TROY.
Troy.
troy.
surely your not suggesting that 1 starter being out means our starting oline should get pushed around by Troy.
look i readily admit the depth should be a problem against the better teams on our schedule. we havent gotten to them yet.

You are only telling half the story. For good measure, you also need to show years in a college program. I'd take a 3* who has started for 2-3 years in the SEC over a true freshman 4-5*
I've already done that for the starting 5. They are above average in experience and seniority compared to other schools. Search my posts

Two starting on the right side are true freshmen...think about that....maybe they are not up to speed on their blocking assignments...
We are starting 1 true freshman. The others include 1 seniors and 3 juniors

I like this analysis. Can we take it one step further and for every year on campus multiply it and see what the scores are
1st year x1 2nd year x2
1st year x1 2nd year x2

Yep and what about the half dozen that transferred or left this year??
They are not playing for LSU. the guys posted in the OP actually are here.
And 3rd stringers don't play. Sorry.
The starting 5 last year played 93% of all snaps for the entire year.

Your obvious skimming over the details is telling....one of the other "starters" is a true freshmen —Ingram
And yeah...I expect two true freshmen to have a tough go against two experienced DL for even Troy...
See that wasn't so hard...

We started 2 against Troy. RG and RT.

Can't include Clapp. He's not playing Guard his naturall and learned position. He's at center where's he never taken a snap. That may be worse than a freshman

So, you agree there is a major talent/depth problem? Why were you pretending that wasn't the case?
There is 100% not a talent or experience problem in the oline compared to other SEC teams.
You play 5 guys at a time. Olimemen don't rotate much at ALL.
Our starting oline are just as talented and more experience that most SEC teams. We have plenty of depth for the position.

Fair. I'm not specifically bitching about troy...the oline has stunk the last 3 weeks.

They don't know there blocking assignments...ever considered that possibility? Two starting on the right side are true freshmen...think about that....maybe they are not up to speed on their blocking assignments... The center....has never played Center...maybe he doesn't understand all his responsibilities...
Yea I did consider that. And all those issues relate to coaching. Orgeron has been with the team for almost 3 years and he has had his sights set on this job. Why didn't he see these issues coming? He has had ample time to deal with them all off season, he has had an advantage most new coaches never get
Do you think we are the only team with freshman on the Oline? Did you consider that?

Then don't start him...we have other non-freshman to play against troy.
Either way...we have 4 guys starting(except against troy) that have played a BUTTLOAD of snaps prior to this year. And they weren't bad players.
There is one thing different. Coaching/scheme...I guess two things lol

I agree with you...I have no idea why those two freshmen are starting

Got it - well looking at what is left should not equate to end of the world

I know you're putting a lot of work into these charts, but they're completely useless.
It doesn't matter if the individuals are talented or not if they don't know what they're supposed to be doing on every play and not working together as a unit. Also, the protection and blocking breakdowns aren't limited to the offensive lineman. Running backs not picking up blitzes and F backs missing assignments have been prevalent as well.
Some of this needs to be attributed to youth, but the majority is on the coaches. If the young guys simply aren't ready, then stop running them out there. You lose the ability to blame youth, when you have them playing in front of guys that at least have a little experience (Magee and Cushenberry), in my opinion.
It was really telling to read Malone say that some guys don't know the offense yet and not everyone has bought in. That's 100% on the coaching, from Orgeron to Canada to Grimes.
Just my .02. I hope they can get this turned around so we can at least be respectable, but even a hopeless optimist like myself is about out of hope.

I remember Saban's one stipulation to LSU when he came here.....I make the decisions of who starts and who doesn't......boosters. If you want to win....keep the damn politics out of it....otherwise, expect to lose to teams like Troy...

Not sure why I'm still trying to convince people...but I updated the original to include 2 deep...for 'depth' purposes. __________________________________________________________________
