I mean that's fair, but there are a lot of factors that play into life outside of race that makes you a majority in some sense.
If a guy looks like a stoner and acts like a stoner, people are likely to be prejudiced towards that person in some form or fashion. So this would imply to me I have some sort of "non-stoner privelege", like the vast majority of this country.
I could extrapolate that exact concept out past a myriad of issues and then determine that everyone has some form of privelege over everyone else.
That's when the discussion becomes somewhat irrelevant to me. We all may face certain prejudices in life for how much money we make, how much we weigh, or what haircut we want to get, or what our sexual preferences are, or our religion. In specific instances where someone is unfairly held back for these issues, much like with race, that's when I'm willing to have a dialogue. Until then, it's vague and doesnt spawn a meaningful dialogue.

but to say an entire group of people start out ahead in life is ignorant. There are some poor arse white families that would love to hear how good they have it because everything must come so easy to them.
the theory of white privilege is like an invisible advantage that white people take for granted in their day to day interactions. tangible examples include:
getting pulled over by a cop? most likely going to be a white cop
applying for a home loan? when you speak to someone in charge its most likely going to be a white person,
going to college? youre more likely to be surrounded by white people in your courses
looking at past historical figures in your textbook? mostly white people
etc

What are we supposed to do about this majority privilege?
Posted on 9/26/17 at 7:35 am to StrongBackWeakMind
acknowledge it, i guess?
nothing you can really do, i get annoyed when people apologize for being white but it certainly happens

Ok, I acknowledge that it's easier being white than black in this country. That's what happens when you're part of the 75%.
Now what?

I acknowledge everything in your post is probably true, but I question if it really comes out to a Caucasian starting halfway to the finish line in life.
Interacting with people with different skin pigmentations on its surface doesn't seem like that big of a detriment.

I get what you are trying to say but:

Ok

If your credit is fine they don't give a shite what color you are. Also you don't even have to meet with anyone in person anymore to get a loan

Well the majority of people in this country are white so you can say that about most places you go. However there are all black colleges. Also if everything else if equal being non-white actually gives you an advantage over being accepted into a college

And if you were in China, they would be Chinese people

Well if he's privileged then he can fix this problem on his own
frick him and anyone that says white privilege is real.

I guess my confusion with whole thing is what people think this acknowledgement will actually accomplish.

White privilege isn't about having it easy, it's about having it easier. It's not about racism either. It's about the simple fact that being white means you're part of the majority race in this country. That's a privilege, but not one for which you or I need to apologize. It's just nature.
I sort of agree with you but you know damn well when people throw this term around, they mean it as an insult, not an explanation

I work with 90% black people and sometimes we go out after work to places they like to visit. Needless to stay when we go in and I am with them I get looks or comments.
I've actually had to have one co-worker get up and tell another guy that I'm cool, not like the rest of them. Like WTF does that mean

indeed. and thats where they take it to far
white people (men especially), cant even acknowledge advantages that minorities might have or "theyre racist"

I wish my credit score was based on my skin color, I would have that beach house I've wanted for so long
