Why did racism suddenly flare up in the past few years?

I'm 43, so I've grown up in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. I never in my life have seen racial issues at the forefront like this.
Barack fricked this country up
like this in 8 years? He's a piece of shite and he's why we're where we are today

It didn't. It's a media / pop culture driven phenomenon.

Everyone says Obama but I think it correlates with the rise of social media. Now racists and extremists on both sides can spew their vitriol and people, sadly, listen. Social media is where most of this crap starts before spilling over into real life.
Part of it too, I think, is we are more integrated than ever. I am about OPs age and I remember the 80's. I feel like even as recent as the 80's and 90's that black people were still segregated for the most part. Even though civil rights was passed in 64, let's be real, blacks are just now integrating which means whites and blacks are having more interaction than ever. Racial problems were bound to happen as a result.

God if only more of the sheep would realize this.

Social Media blasted the ugliness to the world. Add this to overly emotional people...Boom.
Btw blacks have sorta been saying it was bad for decades.

At what year exactly did racism disappear?
Posted on 9/24/17 at 10:09 pm to Rekrul
I have never received an answer to my questions:
1) Name one country where blacks have more opportunities for success, and a higher standard of living than the United States?
2) Name a majority white country that elected a black president other than the United States?
3) Which country in Africa would you rather live in than the United States?
Being a success or a failure in America has nothing to do with skin color, and everything to do with the decisions you make and the habits you let run your life.

I just simply don't know people who hate other people on the basis of their skin color.
Yet it is the overarching theme of our country in 2017.

From an earlier post --
quote:
This all started with your ignorant Messiah. From Henry Louis Gates to Michael Brown to Freddie Grey, that racist no-good piece of f*cking filth flamed the racial divide for his own racist political agenda. And every f*cking time, that ignorant mother f*cker was dead f*cking wrong.
He never f*cking apologized or corrected his lies. Instead he continued to promote his racist agenda.
And that's why these ignorant, overpaid, prima donna thugs are displaying all the complete f*cking ignorance they can muster in disrespecting our nation, our military, our first responders, and our flag.
So.....
frick Roger Goodell
frick the NFL
frick Barry Odumbf*ck Soetoro
and
frick all you American hating leftist pieces of pure f*cking FILTH.

Obama and the media aggressively pushed the racism angle for the past decade. That's what happened.

Why do people like you hide? In what public venue would you say this out loud?

No exact year, imo. Started being noticed in the 80's or there abouts. Then, starting in the late 2000 decade, the the SJWs, with their annoying stupidity, somehow got a bunch of zombies to believe them, showing a sudden "Hundredth Monkey" affect and "Boom!"...Obama.. the Chocolate Jesus" oozed onto the scene and the white guilt became too much to bear, and racism against white people became popular. Very cultish.
Run on sentence..YEAH!!

Because Obama injected himself into the Trayvon Martin case with his "if I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon" and the Michael Brown case in Ferguson. Sending Eric Holder and the DOJ on a witch hunt that ended in acquittals in both cases. But sure got the activists riled up

Powers that be didn't get their way (mass media is aligned with Dems) so racism is pushed to the forefront to indoctrinate the masses with a negative connotation towards Republican leadership
Avg American: "Look how bad things are under trump, things felt much more stable under obama"
When in reality the only thing different is the coverage. Things are actually better than they have ever been if you unplug from the digital facade that is funded by the current majority party's main competitor.
Can't blame them, it's not like republicans don't want to control the narrative, they just lost the Big Media war long ago and the Democrats victory on that front is showing why it was a battle worth fighting.
It's pretty much common knowledge what type of coverage you are going to find by each individual outlet before the news even breaks.
I could give everyone here a hypothetical event and every single one of us (right or left) could essentially write the headline for each letter network, whether CNN, Fox, or whoever. There are just a lot more "CNNs" at the moment
