Let's talk solutions for the Tiger Stadium experience

I went to the game last night and stayed until the end. I've been going to home games since the late 1980's. I left feeling sad about what has become of the LSU Football home game experience. Yes, it has been dropping for a while now but I couldn't believe how pitiful it was last night. It felt more like a glorified scrimmage or a spring game than a night game against a Power 5 opponent.
We can all sit here and gripe about how much the atmosphere has fallen off since games like 1998 Florida, 2000 Tennessee, or 2003 Georgia.
But if you were in charge, what 5 things would you do to fix it? Obviously college football attendance is down across the country as people decide to stay home & watch on their flat screen tv's.
But there are things LSU can do to improve the fan experience. It doesn't have to be this bad.
Parking, traffic, piped-in music, lack of highlights from other games across the country, the constant barrage of corporate sponsors, the nickel-and-diming the average fan...these are the most frequent comments I hear, and all of them are legit.
Maybe if someone came up with a few things the fans want and pushed for it, the next AD would listen after they fire Joe.

Rent a wins are typically not worth all the time effort and $ when you can just watch it at the tailgate or at home.

Better TVs in the concourse
Serve alcohol
Better food with faster service
Put season ticket holders on a points system like the students. i.e. if half your tickets don't get used during the season, your chances of keeping your prime location could diminish.
Also, FREE frickING PARKING on campus. (thank you DS)

Take away fees for parking/ make contraflow better (if possible)

The solution is to put a real competitive team on the field.
The bells and whistles are nice but don't mean shite if you aren't competitive

To me the most disconcerting this was having BRPD officers escorting the team down Victory Hill carrying assault rifles.
Has it gotten that bad ?

1. Stop charging for parking(will never happen)
2. Lower ticket prices(will never happen)
3. Lower concessions prices(will never happen)
4. Sell beer
5. Punishment for not using tickets(will never happen)
6. Punishment for leaving early(will never happen)
They care about money and they are getting more of it than ever. Nothing will change.

1. Hire a competent AD;
2. Hire a qualified HC.

I think the parking situation has a lot to do with it. Nobody wants to leave a footall game at 10 or 11 and then sit in gridlock for another two hours. It just becomes not fun anymore.

Sadly, I don't think there is anyway to fix it. Not with every game being on Television or live streamed. Not with social media and ESPN giving instant updates and showing field positions. Not with 60 minute games lasting 4 hours. Not with the cost of tickets and of course, the TAF contribution. People are lazy and want things to be easy, convenient, and quickly done so that they can move on to other things in their lives. Except for a couple of marquis games every year, even with an exceptional team, people are going to leave at halftime. They can't give up the TV revenue or ticket or TAF revenue, so things aren't going to change. The old ways are gone and it's not just LSU. What we will soon start to see are schools with antiquated stadiums tearing down those venues and building much smaller and user friendly stadiums. It's coming.

Get rid of the piped in music. Let the damn band play.

Aside from a rough product on the field and high prices, the availability of every single game on TV has hindered things as well.

Home and Home....Stop participating in neutral site games.
Posted on 9/24/17 at 12:02 pm to 8miles
Yep. It gets worse every year, why is the band even there?
Posted on 9/24/17 at 12:02 pm to Jwb0581
Let the band play and lead the cheering. It’s one of the things that makes being at the game unique. If I want loud piped in music the entire game I can watch at a bar

#1 by a very large margin is being a top team in the hunt for titles and dominating the opponents.
A reverting to a more traditional atmosphere would be a very good thing IMO:
- Band needs to play more and be allowed to play more regardless of if students curse or not
- Piped in music only in rare cases such as halftime after band finished, while band eats in 3rd quarter, etc.
- reduce the ads promoted over PA during game as well as the promotions and little car-race games played on video boards.
- downgrade wifi and LTE capabilities in the stadium - fans, myself included, spend too much time texting, surfing the web, social media during the game, become disinterested and then leave. This could be solved by just having shitty signal and people wouldn't use their phones and would watch the game more intently
-reduce the cheesy videos played on the video boards. These are played way too frequently and feel very forced. Again, let the band play if needed.
-bring back Ellis Hugh
-bring back neck
Just a few ideas off the top of my head

How about a good out of conference game instead of the neutral site bullshite?
And I agree. Bring back Ellis Hugh.

I have had zero problems with traffic or parking the past two games.

Put a better product on the field and/or a better face of the program and I'll go
