NOLA.Com article on LSU's poor fundraising efforts. LSU admits that they suck at fundraising; always have. It appears that there is no direction for the University; at least not a clear direction that Alumni can understand. How will my dollars be spent? How much is needed? Why is it needed? All of this needs to be answered. People aren't just going to throw money into a black hole.
By comparison, the TAF has done an excellent job of fundraising. Partially because we have to pay them for season tickets, but we can see the fruits of those donations.
Another issue is, who do we donate to? The Alumni Association? The LSU Foundation?

LSU released their strategic plan this week.

Great article. It seems that the LSU foundation needs to allocate more resources toward communication and outreach.
I will send this thread to the foundation's email. I imagine it will serve as useful feedback. If anyone has personal contacts at the foundation, please forward this thread to them.

The problem is that you have to call the alumni association as the gatekeeper when you want to donate. You can't call say the School of Business because they will redirect you through the Alumni Association but when you write the check and fill out the paperwork you can specify.
