Miles followed Saban!
Orgeron followed Miles!

There is a big difference.

So many people were so excited when O shortened the practices.
I wasn't one of them.
NCAA only allows 20hrs/wk football related and just maybe the reps aren't there for muscle memory and football instinct development.
Film and class only help so much.

After witnessing a lack of toughness vs State, a toughness that's been engrained into the LSU program, I've developed a worry this program won't improve

Miles had the chest. O has no chest. Apples to oranges.

Please stop with all of this sky is falling chicken little bull shite. We got beat on Saturday and after what I saw, we could have played that game 10 times with the same personnel with either Miles, Saban or Orgeron coaching and lost 9 of them and probably lost by a spread of 17 points. MSU was on.

Consider this:

Defensively we had essentially untested secondary which periodically had as many as 4 freshmen playing(Delpit, Williams, Monroe and Vincent against a QB in Fitzgerald that has been marinating in Mullen's system for 3 years. Add to that you had some very undisciplined play from our LB's....Alexander for his late hit and Chaisson because he's a freshman and he's going to make mistakes. MSU's offensive front is experienced and big and they came to play. Losing people like Neal, Godchaux, Beckwith, Riley, Adams and White IS a big deal.

Offensively, we were going up against a very good unit especially in the LB's ( Sweat Lewis and Green are very good) as well as a DB unit that was full of 2 and 3 year starters against a receiver corps tat had DJ Chark as the only receiver wit any real experience.

I'm not saying they were 30 points better than LSU, but overall, the individual match ups favored MSU and coaching wise, Mullen can match wits with the best of coaches.

Move on. Worry about crushing Syracuse and Troy and stop wallowing in this loss

Its one freaking loss. He has coached 3 games as permanent head coach. How tough did the team look last year before Miles was fired and after. Id say they looked a lot tougher after. The knee jerk reactions are ridiculous.

For what its worth I was not a fan of the hire and thought LSU settled, but come on guys its his first loss. Give him a chance.

Les Miles also delivered wins against tough SEC competition year in and year out. 2 SEC championships. A natty. 10 win seasons were the norm.

If Ed O accomplished the above he would be considered the best LSU coach of all time.

Maybe it's the smash mouth approach, maybe it's the BigCat drill but there was an amount of toughness that Miles' team showed and Orgeron coached team lacks.

Most fans were excited to hear the big cat drill was gone. They thought it was pointlesss. Now it's a fault of Orgeron that it was done away with? You can't have it both ways.

I was extremely upset with Miles for not making a Herculean attempt to keep his job, as in changing offensive coaching staff.

WHen you have 10+ million to fall back on to NOT work, it makes that decision pretty simple.

You guys are so bi-polar. That is the exact opposite of the description Miles was given the majority of his tenure here.

Totally opposite according to Orgeron. He said the ejections were because they'd run through a wall for him.
