I've never seen this stuff before, seems to be proliferating where we had a lot of standing water during the wet spell we had. Is there any means of chemical control or is pulling the only solution?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Reply to this one, I've requested the others be removed. Site indicated an error and I went back to change the post but it looks like it posted it anyway, six times. My apologies.

Why couldn't this have happened in the OT. That would have been entertaining.

I did a rare triple on mobile once, but a sextuple?
for the difficulty factor alone.
OP: You can say that again (and again, and again, and again and again.)

Is this the correct word? If so thanks.

Is it possibly annual bluegrass?

shite, posted in the other one, but I'll post again.
Looks like a bulrush (Scirpus/Schoenoplectus genus).

It seems like bulrush is fairly tall. This is short, maybe 3-4". The seed pods look similar though.

After second thought, it is more likely a species of Fimbristylis, common name fimbry or fringe-rush.

I think you may have it figured out. The crap just exploded after that wet cycle we had back in late July. Now I need to figure out how to get rid of it. Thanks!!

I get it in my centipede and use Ortho nutsedge killer.
Posted on 9/14/17 at 7:35 pm to Nodust
Definitely not purple nutsedge.

Looks very similar, but wrong time of year. Bluegrass (Poa Annua) won't germinate until you have about a week in a row with high temps that do not exceed 72 degrees. It is usually November before we start to see it.
