You have to have a passing game so you aren't 1 dimensional... Now do you get it????

Because balance is the key. Being able to run or pass whatever you want to and not let the down and distance dictate.

Obviously, passing the football is not the key.
We can beat 80 percent of the teams on our schedule with a "smash them in the mouth" mentality.
The ability to consistently move the football through the air is the key for the other 20 percent.

You can't be one dimensional with either way. If all you can do is run, teams load the box or play up. If all you can do is pass, teams spread out and back. You need a "decent" balance of both.

"The Key" is not run, nor is it pass.
The Key is to be able to do whatever counters the defensive strategy in place to stop what you are currently doing.

There is no issue with being a run-first team. You just have to be able to then take advantage of the opportunities that will present as the defense gears to stop the run. We never much did that in the past, and I'm seeing things that make me think we will start. But it won't necessarily mean X number of passes or percentage of pass vs run.

just need a balanced attack, with unpredictable play-calling. Keep the defense guessing and spread them out so they have to defend sideline-to-sideline.

This ain't rocket science, folks.
