Zero interest.
Haven't watch an LSU basketball game since that nightmare SEC tourney game against A&M and wish I'd quit sooner.

For those too young to remember, it is a blast when basketball is rocking.

We will out hustle and out condition most teams we play with Wade as head coach. This will help us steal a few games we shouldn't.
Our roster is substantially better than we thought it would be because of Wade's insane recruiting.
I think 9 seed in NCAA tournament. Lose in round two.

I wouldn't be took quick to say 1 solid year erases a bunch of bad years. South Carolina finally stepped up to give the SEC a voice beyond UK and UF, but more teams still need to do something in the tournament. We also need to get a lot more teams INTO the tournament before I would take us out of the "Bad" category. 5 teams out of 14 making the tournament isn't particularly good. We've had some years where it's as bad as 3 recently too. the SEC is a bad basketball conference, that perception hasn't changed yet.

17-13 (7-11 SEC play)
I have high hopes for Wade, but I don't see this as a tournament team in year one. The SEC is an improving league with much better coaching that just a few years ago.
There is excitement (and their should be), but LSU has some holes in their roster. Particularly in the front court. You only have 4 guys 6'7"+ Can the transfer from N.Tex. (6'7") compete underneath with bigger SEC players night in and night out? Can Reath hold is own on the glass and on defense? For 3 years Epps wanted nothing to do with playing inside. He's going to HAVE to do that this year because he is (likely) the first man off the bench if/when Combs/Reath get in foul trouble. Kiir has size, but he's a true freshman.
Are their any reliable outside shooters? Edwards looks to be the only (potential) consistent threat from 3.
I KNOW this team will play MUCH better defense. That alone will give them a chance in many games. But with an improved league it's going to be tough night in and night out. Mizzou and Bama both signed really good classes this year with lottery picks. Miss. St. and Auburn are in year 2 with good 2016 classes. Plus there are no Rick Ray's or Tony Barbee's on the sidelines (as HC's). Guys like Ben Howland and Bruce Pearl have some "skins on the wall." Kentucky will be Kentucky. Florida is coming off an Elite 8 appearance. South Carolina is coming off a Final Four appearance. Both will probably take a step back this year, but it won't be too significant. Martin and White have good programs. A&M has NBA talent on the roster. UGA and Ole Miss, while rarely championship contenders, are generally solid teams.
I hope LSU greatly exceeds my expectations this year. But I'm also trying to be realistic. The real hype train starts next season.

9-9 in the SEC and a NIT host. We'll not have enough talent, imo, to any better than that this season. If CWW gets these guys to the NCAA Ty, he should be COTY.
2018-19 will begin our runs into the NCAA Ty.

all of this. I'm a little shocked everyone is penciling us in for the tournament. I think LSU would for sure be an NCAA team with Kavell eligible, but I just think we're a post guy short of making it. Maybe the UNT kid is an absolute stud? I'm not sure what to expect of him

One year away from something special. We will win 15-20 games this year, will win a game or two we shouldn't, one thing is for sure you will see a totally different attitude and accountability. You will see a team that cares and some serious coaching going on. Will Wade is the real deal and will do some great things here quickly. 2018 will be a top five class with a couple of one and dones. It's gonna be fun to have the PMac rocking again soon. FYI the new color guy for LSU bb will be Coach John Brady.

That's good news. I think he will do well in that role. I felt a while back that he was possibly being put into that role. Chris Blair had posted a photo on twitter saying something about all the LSU sports radio guys getting together for an annual BBQ and Brady was in the pic; so I figured he must be getting involved somehow.

Makes sense, but I'm always the optimist and will go with squeaking into the tourney this year since Wade seems to do no wrong and then a #2 seed in the tourney the following year when the big time recruits come in.
