Pleasantly surprised with Voodoo BBQ visit last weekend

About 10-12 years ago they'd cook a very good quarter chicken, but over the years it got smaller and less seasoned. Some of the other selections seemed to fall off too.
We decided to give the Jefferson location another shot last weekend and the chicken was back to how it was when it first opened in BR. Everything else we ordered was good too. Was it just my lucky day or did they change ownership?

This place hates on chain restaurants so you won't get any positive feedback, but I enjoy Voodoo myself. My wife and I eat at the St. Rose location about once a month.

I've lived very near the voodoo on Jefferson/Drusilla for years and only visited it once or twice.. it just wasn't good. Maybe they've improved? I'd like to have decent BBQ by my house. BRQ is good but it is a little expensive

Ate there once when it first opened in Houma. Very average back then. You better be able to do it better than I can in my backyard for me to return. Haven't been back since.

I agree...nothing like a cold beer and bbq in the backyard...i think that's why places here don't make it...its just too easy and relaxing to do it at home
Where do the resturants get those tiny chicken from...thats my main grip about going out to eat bbq...you don't get anything but a skinny chicken....cowboy chicken is the worse

Voodoo BBQ catered a meeting I attended a few months ago and I was really surprised at how good all the meats and sides were. That said, I do enjoy making BBQ myself as opposed to buying it.
Might get my fix when Sonny's opens up for cheap BBQ on the go.

Voodoo is ok. I only eat it when thats where they order from at work.
Try Whole Foods bbq. I get the 3 meat and 2 sides for 15.99. I like it and it takes two sittings for me to finish it.
