You truly are ignorant in this area. It's baffling to me that you can't simply google what we're saying and see that what we're saying has literally been understood for hundreds of years.

I cannot believe that it's 2017 and people still deny scientific facts. Yes, evolution definitely happened/is still happening. You can't comb through pea gravel at a park for 5 minutes without finding fossils that are millions of years old.

At ONE TIME, the GREATEST thinkers and scientists in the world were convinced that the Sun revolved around the Earth.
This isn't an argument because when people thought this, "science" as we know it didn't exist. So you can't really call them "scientists" at all.

It was factual to them and not open to discussion
In the same way that God was factual to them and not open to discussion.

The facts changed
No. They started looking for facts.

They evolved
Learned.

hat's what we're trying to say it is tough to accept something as 100% factual,EVER.
It's quite easy.

your stubbornness and unwillingness to see the simple fact is starting to make your ignorance easy to accept 100%.
It's not about stubbornness and I'm certainly not the ignorant one here. Just because some people took a philosophy class once or are clinging to what their 5th grade teacher told them about learning and discovery, doesn't mean that facts don't exist in this world.

Wow. You've got one guy saying "this is known for 100s of years" and another guy saying "what people knew 100s of years ago is wrong". Interesting.

I have a background in this stuff. My only point that as true as 2+2 = 4 is so is the coefficient of friction.

I just thought it was funny that two guys trying to argue the same thing took completely opposite stances on the reliability of the "thinkers" from 100s of years ago. That's all. Not really trying to make a point about it.

I was stating a known axiom from scientific thinkers known for centuries.

He was citing actual occurences where that axiom held true.

I'm aware.

He was citing a time when the scientific method hadn't existed yet at least not even close to how it exists today.

That has zero to do with "there being no facts in science". I can give you a fact that we've discovered through science and that doesn't make it questionable or "maybe wrong one day" just because you learned the scientific method in 5th grade.

I can't make it any more plain than: H20 is water. Or the acceleration due to earth's gravity in a vacuum at 0 atm is -9.8 m/s.

Those are facts. Now, with anything in physics, you can change the variables or parameters to determine that things aren't so simple, but when you set those out clearly, the conclusion is often known. In other words: A fact

You do know you're wrong right? Like not up for discussion, no debate, you are just empiracally wrong.

And of course you noticed that I never used the term scientific method in my post. I was just addressing the fact that you accept today's fact in today's world. Just as they did hundreds of years ago. Their facts changed and all I'm saying is that yours may change too. Some something that is as yet undiscovered could change everything. Which is why we were addressing "100% true".

You are trolling.

Do you accept it as fact that the earth rotates on an axis and orbits the sun? Yes or No?

Do you also believe organisms self-assemble from nothing by divine guidance, or is that a natural process?

I'm not telling you that.

I really want one of these posters to tell me that it's not a fact that the earth is round, that it rotates on an axis, or orbits the sun. Where have they all gone?

If the sun's a big ball of fire, how come it's so cold in space?

The earth is round-ish.. the axis is kind of made up.. it doesn't physically exist, and for now, we orbit the Sun... but hundreds of years ago, 'your people', thought otherwise.
