we should be very concerned about the state of the oline.

just hope canada is as good as everyone says he is.

F the offensive hype. I've road that preseason train several years now, and it has derailed every time but once.
Only definite good thing on the offense is that Guice is a beast

I am not swayed one way or the other over scrimmage passing stats.
But after watching Etling in real games last year, he is a tough kid. One who will surely take a good hit and keep playing. But is limited a bit in what he can do passing.
Can Canada maximize his strengths? He has helped QB's at other places he has coached. We will see. I hope so.

So who have been our camp stars so far? You don't even know how much different O is as compared to Les Miles in his definition of who a "star" is. Les could have had a lesser version of what O defines as a star player. Here's a great example, Chark even last year was probably our best WR on the team. Les Miles never played the guy. O takes over and immediately we have Chark and Chi as weapons. Not that we didn't have them before, it's that the previous coach, for what ever reason didn't feel the need to take advantage of everyone's role that they could play.
This offense will do that. It's going to take a strong/slow guy and put him on their weakest safety/corner/linebacker, let the guy break a tackle then see him run for 15 yards. Every offense has people who can play a role. How well they play that role, and how many you have who can play it consistently, will determine whether your offense will be decent or great. I think we have plenty. You don't and we'll see who right very soon.

And if you put a gun to my head i'd still go with the guy who won 114 games here, flaws and all.

Take away Key, Aranda, and Guice and what do we really have?
I hate these comments. Take away Brady, Edelman, and Belichick away from the Patriots and what do you have?

i very easily can actually

Also you claim guice is talented enough to get us to the promise land but where is your evidence to that affect?
um have you not seen guice play?

Your stance can either be we have no talent OR that we are unproven but talented. You can't say this is the worst team ever AND we have talent. Those two ideas don't mesh.
you are as dumb as a box of rocks if that's what you've gotten out of this.

NFL =/= CFB
and 2 of those 3 are possibly the best of all time at what they do
oh and they are at the 2 most important spots on a football team
If you were to let me trade Guice and Aranda for tGOAT cfb HC and QB, i'd feel a whole hell of a lot better about our season and our future.

. I don't think anyone saw Nate Peterson as great QB either. So that's a draw in my opinion.
Peterson threw 20 TDs the year before Canada arrived and had the second most carries on the team. He also lost Connor before the season started so he didn't have that beast to lean on. That was also his first year starting in college.
That is no way a draw IMO.

Well in the article it explains what he means so you would just have to read it. Basically says he's going to play (2) bucks on each end to rush or drop back into space. He's says the roster he has this year can play in space. He says his best rusher is actually Cory Thompson. He mentions that he has very similar long lean players in the middle this year who are just as athletic as the outside guys. Basically he can disguise his defense like a real 3/4. That last year was really a 4/3 concept. He used (1) guy (Key) to create havoc but he has several guys like that this year. I can't wait to see it.

Can the "thick as shite" fanatics just continue being fanatics? Otherwise, why bother following any of this shite unless you're a professional beat writer?

O Line and QB are average

1 great RB then a big drop

Looking at the receiver depth chart is eye popping and not in a good way.

Yep I'm done with this nonsense. My lawd it's so ignorant. No one actually knows what this offense can be and if Miles won that many games with the shite show that he put on the field, then I feel pretty damn good about this years offense. Sorry but our WR position wasn't exactly stacked last year either and even with a crap offense we won lots of game and competed with everyone. Idk if most know that we were literally seconds away from beating Wisconsin, Auburn and Florida. Then we took the mighty Alabama to the 4th quarter tied. Yeah we are doomed. My god some people are blind here really.

I've watched LSU long enough to realize that "practice reports" aren't worth the paper they are printed on and looking good getting off the bus means nothing. I'm sure some of those guys will turn out to be as good as advertised, but in years past LSU had probably double that number of camp stars. Just playing the numbers game they don't all pan out and when that happens where does that leave us? With a hole at that position, that's where.
Sounds like you just want to be negative and there's no convincing you otherwise. Maybe it's a self-defense coping mechanism for you.
I don't recall anyone on here acting like it's 2011 and we're going to beat everyone by 30. We have holes like anyone else but we'll likely finish somewhere between 11-1 and 9-3. With some lucky breaks and player development, we could run the table. If you're not down for the ride then get off the bus.

No, i can just look at my own team objectively, unlike many of you

i didnt say they were either but then you follow that up with:

When in reality 9-3 is probably our ceiling.

I'm one of the biggest LSU fans on the planet. Just because I can take my p&g glasses off doesn't mean i don't support the team.

Honestly other than Bama, the SEC is wide open. It would not surprise me to see LSU 11-1 or 7-5

We have 5 conference road games and while it's true Bama has separated from the pack, the pack has caught up to us as well. We have more very loseable games on this schedule than at any time in recent memory and our new HC is a massive question mark.
Could we go 11-1? sure. But 7-5 is much more likely if those are the 2 options you're giving me.

Then you're fricking retarded. Bovada and most Vegas sports books have our over/under win total at 9. Where's your objectivity? If neutral sports books that do this for a living indicate that LSU has a 50% chance of going 9-3, how can that be our ceiling?

Reality: the sports books know the general public overrates LSU and sets the line artificially high in order to get action on both sides.

Our defense is loaded with future 1-2 round NFL draft picks.

Not by multiple wins on a 12 game schedule. Also, on a college football win total it's more likely to effect the payout rather than the actual number. LSU will be favored in st least 10 games this year. Keep trying though.
