Hopefully one day you can connect the dots. Today doesnt have to be it.
It's cute that you think you're the smart one here.
You know you can remember men for dying for a fallen cause without putting up monuments, right? I'm not even pro-spending the resources to knock these things down but I think it's fair to point out that we have monuments up depicting men who led a failed rebellion against this country.
You somehow take that comment and twist it into some back-handed comment about me not protecting my family as if those two ideas are even related. It's truly some of the dumbest shite I've seen on here.

My argument is that public space should not be used to honor men who do not deserve honor.
Lee had more honor in his pinky toe then you probably have in your entire family tree sir.

Don't comment on my family again and I have no problems not taking you seriously.

Its best not take the PT board too seriously either. I usually come here just to piss people off and troll them into oblivion. Its entertaining for slow days at work.

Well Lee freed his slaves(That were inherited not bought)in 1862. While your Union generals like Grant and Sherman didnt free theirs until the 13th was passed.

Somehow they hardly balance out.

"As regards the erection of such a monument as is contemplated," Lee wrote of an 1866 proposal, "my conviction is, that however grateful it would be to the feelings of the South, the attempt in the present condition of the Country, would have the effect of retarding, instead of accelerating its accomplishment; [and] of continuing, if not adding to, the difficulties under which the Southern people labour."

Lee also allowed his men to capture freed blacks for enslavement after that, and supported forcing slaves to fight in his army right up until the war ended.

Lee didn't free his slaves, his FIL's will did. Lee tried to get the courts to prevent that.
Grant bought one slave from his FIL to free him.
Sherman never owned a slave.
Quit making up history.
