I lay our current state of affairs directly at the feet of high school civics teachers.

Again, people find the information they want to find.

Do I think he's at least somewhat complicit in all of this. Yes, even if not totally intentional his mere presence has emboldened these groups. They are 100% his base, even if he would rather not be (publicly) associated. And of course, that also emboldens groups like Antifa and BLM. It's a vicious cycle.

It's impressive that such a small number of fringe dirt bags are the base of a political figure that shockingly became potus

It's not. Fox is every bit as biased as CNN.

I do agree. Yes

quote:Agree to disagree. I watch both equally. (I have to because I'm deployed and AFN must give them equal air time I guess). So I see them both cover the exact same stories back to back. I'm obviously right wing but I like to think I can spot bias even on my side. And I can see a lot of bias at fox. I can also see that they've been much more critical of Trump than CNN was of Obama. And I can definitely see that Fox is much harsher on the right wing protestors in VA than CNN was on the Dallas shooter or the Berkeley rioters.
It's not. Fox is every bit as biased as CNN.
But this isn't the point of this thread.
The point is that the extremists on the left are every bit as bad and evil as the extremists on the right. Antifa/BLM are no different in my eyes than the KKK or the Nazis.
It would go a long way if leaders of the Republican Party got with leaders of the Democratic Party and had a joint press conference denouncing both groups. This would involve the Democrats saying on television that the leftist groups are the exact same and just as evil as the Nazis and kkk. And at the same time have the republicans unequivocally denounce the KKK and Nazis(which has been done a thousand times already but what's one more time in the grand scheme of things.)

I mean, it's not hard to denounce the KKK.
Antifa/BLM, while I agree are every bit as responsible for these violent clashes, are not viewed in the same right. They aren't publicly pushing a message of hate, bigotry and separatism.
It's not the same, but I agree that the Democratic Party should speak out against the violence used by these groups or any liberal terrorist (which they have also done several times)

only due to partisan bias and bubble thinking

just violence, fascism, and anti-diversity

yeah i didn't want to "go there" but it is true
this is a "since my side is right, it can't be bad" scenarios...classic example of "ends justify the means"

I would argue flying the flag of an ideology that killed tens of millions of people in the last century is pretty fricking hateful and advocating separatism. Not to mention you see those "When you date a white, it's not alright" signs and so forth and violently attack people with whom you disagree, that is ontological hate.
I would classify them every bit as bad as any alt-right or far-right group, and they are much larger from what I can tell. Only difference between the two at the moment is that the alt-right groups have an administration that is willing to play footsie with them.

The fact that the Enemedia continues to willfully ignore the Prog/leftists contributions to the Charlottesville shite show is exactly why Trump is POTUS..........., we're on to their BS!

But they are...they hate people that like statues.
They counterprotested a statue event. They flew in from around the country to see it.
