But seriously this is a refreshingly positive and realistic outlook

Yeah, well there is fear of the unknown. Alleva and co. could certainly blow the next hire and there are plenty who say O is the proof of that. However, I suspect those same people will also have to grudgingly concede that at least, at this point, Alleva knocked it out of the park with the hire of Wade.

I'm nervous about Aranda's weight. He needs to get to about 197.

It was reported on 247 last season that people in the know (I think Shea) said he isn't interested in being a college HC but he does have NFL D.C. aspirations down the road.

Of course that can change

weird to be a college head coach.

He certainly communicates better than Miles without "erh..erh..." in incomprehensible sentences, plus he doesn't chew grass so he's not weird at all to be a college head coach.

Why would any coach want to take a step back and go to aTm. They will never overtake LSU

Btw, you're wrong about aTm brininging in more & than LSU. Actually LSU brings in more than any sec school....on the athletic side

Atm could be the school with big pockets to lure Aranda if LSU makes it to the CFP round. Who wouldn't want a 5-year contract of 4-5 mil per year. It would set him to live comfortably thereafter.

Aranda has settled in nicely. He's well paid. I see him staying several more years. I worry more about Raymond leaving than Aranda

I've become nervous over the last few weeks about Aranda's days being number at LSU.

Oh my Gawd, I won’t be able to sleep tonight!

Relax, Aranda isn’t going anywhere. He’s and his family loves Baton Rouge, he loves working for Coach O, he loves this coaching staff, he loves the players, and he loves coach Ensminger and says when he grows up he wants to be just like him.

Not to mention, that he is the highest paid defensive coordinator in the country by far, as he is paid more money than most of the head coaches in the country are paid. In fact, NFL defensive coordinators don’t make as much money as LSU pays Aranda. He'd be stupid to leave.

His next stop is likely as an NFL DC.

I don't think so. LSU pays him more money than what he could make being an NFL coordinator working far more hours than he already does at LSU.

I brought this up when O was hired. We will live and die by our coordinators. This is the decision that was made. Im anxious to see what the results are on the field with the type of coaching hierarchy that LSU has established.

So with the kind of salaries LSU is willing to pay coordinators, you don't think that Coach O will be able to hire another coordinator worthy of replacing Aranda?

It seems Coach O did a pretty good job of hiring Coach Canada. Everyone says that was a homerun hire.
