Playing U12 PSL in Lafayette tomorrow. A league for club soccer teams, should be fun.

IDK, playing Dynamo. It's a fairly wide reaching league, we're traveling 3 hours to go play them.

I'm not sure LCSL is, but LSA runs ODP in La.

It's just a small 'league' put together to effectively play friendlies. The Jesters from NOLA, Dynamo from Lafayette, Slidell, South Tangi...

Basically just warm ups for the real tournaments. We're playing outside of Jackson this weekend so last weekend we got the blood flowing. They're 'cheaper' weekends. If the tournaments cost $500 per team the PSL is on the order of $100.

Every team hosts a weekend.

Where they play friendlies?

The most competitive teams usually play tournaments. This weekend we're in a tournament in Clinton MS with the LA club Blackhawks, next weekend with Fire, Madisonville, STYSA, Slidell...

We'll end up playing every highly competitive team in south LA this fall season...BRSC,
Fire, Jesters, Blackhawks...

ETA: I see from that link that the tournaments we play are under the 'Club Tournaments in Louisiana'. Fall Classic, Gator Classic, Battle of the Boot, Midnight (Halloween) Madness in Mandeville...We play in the highest bracket gold/elite, so we'll play them all. Going to be tough too.

i don't know anything about louisiana, but pretty much any club worth a shite plays in something similar to the LCSL in addition to tournaments.

league play helps you qualify/get seeded for state cup and also helps teams qualify for your regional premier league.

then you also have national league which is within that realm and the highest level within it(no boys teams from louisiana play in this) and USDA which is a separate entity (nike) that also has no teams from louisiana that i'm aware of.

They play in the LCSL, 2-3 tournaments and friendlies. Then at end of Spring season they play in State Cup.

Go here and you can see the best teams in each division in Comp 1 and then on down.

Never played Cabosa, and we're on the other side of the bracket from Blackhawks06Black (#2 LA team) this weekend. We'll either have to win to face them, or they'll have to lose. It's a 3 game tournament, so we'll know Saturday night.

We'll face most of those top teams this fall.

I'm nervous for my son. He switched teams after U11, inside the club, and his new coach immediately made him their center mid, or one of the 2 if they 3-2-3.

He deserves it, but I'm not sure he fully understands the breadth of his responsibility. He played a shite first half (just not controlling the game like he needs to) last weekend and we ended up tying a pretty bad team. This weekend it's on...

Practice has shifted to him running the offense, not sure where that's been, and he does that part well...but you've got to have the ball to run an offense. Winning it, or chasing that fricker down if you don't, from the best player on the other team is what I'm nervous about. Our team doesn't posses from the back like we should so it puts immense pressure on the mids to win shite goalie kicks and defensive clears.

He'll either play with a ton of heart and we'll compete, or he'll be frustrated by the quality of the opposition. Our club isn't...well I'll just say we are dad coached. He's a good coach but I think that says it all.

Technically, the best LA teams don't play in LCSL they play in RPL (regional premier league)and on rare occasion the national league against other states instead of against LA teams only. But then they do play in the LA state cup at end of year against the LA teams.

They do play in RPL, the regional premier league, which is teams from al, ms, la and fl. Depends on age group. This year, for us (01's), we are playing in LPDL instead of lcsl. Not much difference as I see it. Basically, the five main clubs in la, playing a home and home, maybe a showcase, too. All comp 2-4 will continue to play lcsl. Like I said, not much difference from comp 1 last year. LPDL will play state cup as well.

I didn't read his post about his kid's age group, yes RPL starts a later age. Sorry for confusing post.

Yes I'm familiar with it, another first year program that has a lot of fallout that perhaps the state didn't consider when creating the league. What club are you with if you don't mind me asking?

Gotcha

I was actually asking AU RX which LPDL club his kid plays for. I had a question about the team formation process.

So your son's team can't play in the Louisiana Competitive Soccer League.
Not sure if there is an equivalent in MS?
