Most disappointing seasons in your lifetime.

I'm just going to discount the entire decade of the 90's because it was all bad except for Kevin Faulk and a few others having memorable games.
Was talking with a friend about the 2008 Troy game and started to recall the rest of that season. For me, 2008, 2009, 2014 and 2016 are the most disappointing years in recent memory. I will say that upsetting Ole Miss in 2014 probably saved it from being the worst year of those four.

1999 was atrocious, the rest of the 90's weren't that bad, especially after Gerry brought the magic back.
2002 sucked, high expectations following our '01 SEC championship. We lost to Va Tech in the opener, then lost Mauck early in the season. squeaked through the rest of the season with Marcus Randle at QB, including the Bluegrass Miracle.
2004 sucked for similar reasons including not meeting sky high expectations with Randle/Russell splitting time, capped off by losing Saban at the end of the year.
The pick 6 year was terrible and scarred Les' coaching for life.
Last year was pretty tough.
Still, all of our "bad" years besides 1999, were absolutely awesome for most schools around the country. Ole Miss would kill to go 8-4 this year, which is defined as terrible under current LSU standards. Cheer buttercup, it ain't so bad.

2013. Offense finally does their part, but defense drops the ball.

For children of the 90s expectations were low so we couldn't be disappointed. I thought 2016 was our year and was pretty disappointed.

the last 4 years under Less Miles.

2016... The way we took that "L" right out the gate to Wisconsin was hard to deal with. The whole thought of the "Let's give Les one more year" offseason campaign made it worse.

2009-Still waiting for Russell Shepard to be the next Percy Harvin
2016-what a waste of a season

2013 wasting the best offense in ages with the worst defense. Imagine 2013's offense with last year's defense.

I really thought that 2013 was going to be our year.

This is a joke, right? 1992 we were 2-9. I was there. DiNardo didn't "Bring Back the Magic" until the 90's were already half over. And even then, the "magic" lasted all of 3 years.
The '90s were far and away MAJORITY atrocious.

Dude... I gotta assume you were born in the 90s, and def didn't live through them. We had SIX LOSING SEASONS IN A ROW. And 7 of 10 were losing seasons overall in the '90s. Not many teams wish they had that. LSU had never suffered back-to-back losing seasons in almost 100 years of football. I show up in school and we had SIX IN A ROW.
Aside from those Dark Ages '89-'94, the biggest disappointment of a season was '98 to me. Up to #6 and Champ Bailey ran wild and then it went downhill fast. We averaged about 36 points on offense, and Tepper allowed about 38 on defense, per game.

so edit that 95-98 weren't that bad, Curley Hallman dragged down the rest of the decade.

We were at every Home game, Auburn, and Fayetteville. The win over the Heisman Winner was icing on the cake for a fun-filled season, despite seeing 3 of our losses in person.
If you have season tickets and feel you're entitled to a better product for your $$, I'll take them.

How about just admitting you don't know the 90s and aside from a handful of highlights and ONE great season, we pretty much sucked.
We were EXCITED to go to the Poulan Independence Bowl in S-Port, and we went there 2 of the 3 years we went "bowling" in the 90s.

98 after rising as high as 6th I believe going into the Georgia game. After suffering through the decade thus far and believing the magic was back to stay and being in NC contention finally, it was heart wrenching to lose by 1. That was the peak of the Dinardo era and we completely collapsed after that.

1989 because it was the start of 6 losing seasons in a row.

The most disappointing for me was my freshman year at LSU in 1993.
Wuerffel put that Gaytor pecker in our butt at home and then we go on to beat Ole Miss two weeks later.
The following week we give Bama one of their worst upsets in program history(they were on like a 30 game win streak and defending national champs). Coast over Tulane(that game was COLD) and all we have to do is beat Arkansas at home for a bowl bid.
This was easily my least favorite season of all time after watching that Bama game at the REC on a big TV they rolled out.
