Justin Jefferson Signs with LSU from Destrehan

What is the story on this guy? I see he is a 2* but has impressive Highlights especially running Kick Offs and Punts. Destrehan is 5A so he played against some good teams and why so late? He made some good catches in the Highlights looks to have good speed. Am I missing something here?

He has a chance to be a pretty good WR if he comes in and works hard. He can go up and catch a ball. What I like about him is that he goes up at the last second and those types are usually successful.
He could even play next year if he works hard enough and keeps his academics up. Add Giles to the mix and suddenly our WR position doesn't look as thin.
Of course O wants a lot of WRs so we'll see how may he takes. Really like all the LA guys we looking at, Keys, Jason, Chase and of course Marshall.

I remember him performing really well at an LSU camp, particularly in route running. I believe the reason why he is late to the party was grades related

Has Justin been approved by the Clearing House? If not, do you think he will be okayed in time to participate in some fall practices?

I know he signed with LSU days ago, but why wasn't he already signed with another school? Or was he?

No, he didn't sign with or commit to anyone. I'm pretty sure he didn't have any P5 offers because of his grades. I think a lot of people assumed he was going to have to go juco.
