Why do I care about the media watching practice? Plus with a new OC and HC why let the media know anything about the team just to tell the world and allow other teams a sneak peak at the unknown?

Agreed. I've been listening to Ben Love down here in Laffy a lot more lately than Moscona. One of the very few level headed radio host regarding LSU sports

bottom line, it is not the most important thing. But it does show a lack of confidence, a good deal of paranoia, and a bit of cowardice. His mentor, Pete Carroll, never closed practice. Most coaches do.
Going inside with no outsiders to practice any "trick plays" just makes sense; otherwise, allowing a limited number of vetted journalists to attend practice just makes sense to provide your fan base with information to get them fired up and ready for the season.

Couldn't agree more. I can't even listen unless a guest like Detillier is on. Moscona is a dork and T Bob is just an immature but unfortunately many his age relate to him. Moscona, not so much
