Been really good, regarding the whole series of podcasts and specifically Death Throes.

Previous history I'd been taught or read was along the lines of "Sulla was an early Roman tyrant circa 85BC." But Carlin goes through the whole historical sequence and the politics and personalities so you understand why things happened the way they did, when they did.

People were so brutal to each other, so frequently, and in such large numbers, that it's hard for me to wrap my head around. And Carlin talks about that at length.
