Warning! Facebook LINK
Ran across this video. Did not see where anyone else had posted it yet. I really am excited for what he brings to the table. He has been killing it on the recruiting trail and he seems to be energetic and enthusiastic and is being able to work with one of the best defensive minds in college football with Dave Aranda.

Wow he will move up the ranks fast. Charisma.

I think it is safe to say that between Coach Aranda and Coach Meatball, our LB corps are in good hands. I am truly excited to see our defense abuse offenses this year!

I really sound like a negative nancy these days, but how exactly do we know he's a good coach? He's accomplished nothing.
While the rah rah miked up videos are fun to watch, they really give little insight into a coaches ability.

They say an idiot is born every day, we found ours for 7/26/17.

When Dave Aranda and Ed O make it a point to retain and then promote this guy, then I would say he is pretty competent in what he does. In 2016, he had a hand in helping coach Arden Key, Tashawn Bower, and Michael Divinity. They all had great seasons and were very well coached. I understand that some people could doubt him due to his lack of experience however if 2016 is any indication of his ability, I would say that 2017 will be a damn good year as well. As far as recruiting, he sealed the deal with K'lavon Chaisson and Jacob Phillips, just to name a few.

I agree that the rah-rah stuff tells nothing about how good a coach one is.
I'd rather see and hear them imparting technique and scheme.
That being said, if Aranda likes this guy, I do too.

Exactly. Belichick is the best coach on the planet and is an emotionless computer program.
This guy may be a good coach that "rise up the ranks fast" but it will have like 5% due to his "charisma".

Damn dude. Im just asking a question. I honestly dont know what he's accomplished from a coaching perspective. Please fill me in. I need to be educated.
I will agree, if Aranda likes him, thats definitely a plus.

Did you watch the video on mute or something?
Posted on 7/26/17 at 12:27 pm to SportTiger1
I agree. Saying someone is a great coach based on this video is ignorant. Not saying he isn't but a blind person could see this video on every campus in America.

Time will for sure tell however I challenge everyone doubting him to show me where his deficiencies are. Show me where our OLBs fell off or did not show improvement. No one is saying Meatball is the next Saban but being young, charismatic, and taught well by some great defensive minds usually tends to show positive results. So again, I ask, show me stats or evidence to support that meatball isn't good at coaching up OLBs

Which precisely my point.

Show me stats that he is. Thats much more pertinent than me proving the opposite. But we dont like to hire proven coaches these days.
Look, i'm not saying hes a bad coach, i have no earthly idea. But fact is, he was GA this time last year and no one knows how much involvement he had teaching technique up to that point, especially since Aranda taught LBs.
Honestly, it was a strange hire for a school like LSU. But carry on the blind pumping.

Really? did you even watch the video that was posted? He wasn't yelling "rah-rah-rah" the whole time.

It's your life's calling to attempt to shite all over every thread that has a positive spin for the LSU football program.
Good luck in this one.

great, but that's phase 1. After you get that talent on campus, you have to develop it to get maximum production on the field.
So yes, high energy, charisma, motivation, etc. can be part of effective coaching.
But it's really much more than that. Let's wait and see.
