Just watched Hacksaw Ridge and in that movie they had an American sergeant using what I believe is a German grease gun while fighting on Okinawa in 1945. Is that even a possibility? I guess anything is possible but that just does not Seem right at all but I could be wrong. I also realize these movie directors take many liberties while filming but that was just out of place.

A "grease gun" is a .45 ACP M3 submachine gun fielded by the U.S. It was the cheaper alternative to the Thompson submachine gun.

That's an American "grease gun", not to be confused with the German MP40
M3
MP40
Same premise, though. Both stamped metal parts.

Yep definitely an American greaser.
But nonetheless, Okinawa was when the European theater was winding down...so I guess it would be POSSIBLE for a soldier to bring a German gun over to the Pacific if they were transferred. I would say highly unlikely though.
