Why does anybody care that we are UF's homecoming?

Does anybody really give a shite about homecoming. This isn't high school. I thought it was some lame attempt to hype up a game against ULM or Troy.
So some student govt at UF decided to do this? Who gives a shite?

Actually they almost always schedule an SEC team for homecoming. This was a big nothing burger by the press.

All I know is there will be a lot of dissapointed gators in that stadium. I hope we are beating the hell out of them by halftime so that ring ceremony just seems like consolation. frick florida

I think it makes for great banter in the offseason. I'm happy to see them do something like this.
