He would go down as a legend and be remembered as perhaps the most popular Senate Majority Leader ever.

Might want to think twice about that. The next Democratic President and Dem Senate could put a nominee left of Thurgood Marshall on the SC. Add the House and they could get Medicare for all.

Democrats were kicking themselves in the fricking arse over Harry Reid going nuclear on the filibuster rule after Trump made his nominations.

We would be basically be committing suicide if dems win senate and they give us single payer with no filibuster to stop them.

The filibuster is terrible for everyone, Democrats and Republicans. It's time that elections actually have consequences for everyone involved.

I hope he does this.

Seriously.

It would make my summer.

I'm gonna take the contrarian view and say that the Filibuster is actually a good thing. The Senate is not meant to be a simple majority body of government. Some of you need to take a civics lesson.

What the American people continue to vote for is gridlock. Maybe we should listen to what they are saying? Healthcare was never suppose to be passed by one party it's 15% of GDP and the Democrats were wrong to shove the ACA down our throats. Still, the Republicans need to realize the tide is against them on HC. Cost cutting and savings mean nothing to people that just want to be covered.

I am glad you aren't up there. He would be the one person that caused the most flips in the mid terms in history. He would beat Bush's in 06.

While I agree it will happen when the Dems are in charge again, it will do nothing for Obama care (other than clear the way for a complete repeal)

That would be incredibly stupid.

You do realize that those who oppose you will have that same ability once they gain power?

This would open Pandora's box leading to too much radical policy on both sides every 4-8 years. Would cause extreme instability in the markets and politics.

However I wouldn't mind lowering the filibuster to say 55-56 votes
