Just out of curiosity, what would you say Obama's economic policies were?

shouldn't that be priced in
Either no effect is priced in, or effects we might not know about are priced in.
Institutional investing is such a large portion of the market that it wouldn't surprise me if it's already priced in by those who know more than the rest of us.

My guess is they know you and the Dems are wrong about the whole Muh Russians thing.

Why should it affect the stock market?
Obviously, a lot of people are closely watching this. The financial types that I follow were quick to point out the 100 point drop after news about the Jr meeting broke. Then like clockwork, the market recovered as analysis came out that probably nothing would come of the meeting news. I'm not a market guy but there seems to some correlation and I would guess that the uncertainty generated by any potential Trump legal issues would be bad for the market.

Because, it priced it in 6 years ago, if not 8?

Good question. For that matter, why doesn't the stock market seem to care about the ACA?
It does.
Follow XBI and IBB when votes are on the table.
It's just not the entire market.

It's being run up now to get money flowing in. It will crash and burn as soon as the market makers sense they got all the money in that they can.

Halftrack Posted on 11/24/16 at 9:21 pm re: Dow is up 450 points since Aug. 15 to matthew25 The stock market does what will cause the most people to lose the most money, generally speaking. It's sort of like Vegas in that regard. Some huge percentage is institutional investors. So, if conventional wisdom is Trump is good for the market, it will suck up money, let people think it, then take it from them. It's happened before. Most Republicans - check history - create a recession about year two. Spending is over the top and tax revenues down. If it were me, ride the bull short run and hope you can get out before the horn gores you.
well since 11/24/16 the dow has added over 3700 points....wow! when you get it wrong son you really get it wrong.
i especially like your expertise regarding women.

I am not sure about all this happy talk you guys are spouting off. It's been every man for himself. For me you gotta be nice but firm in what shite you will take and what you won't. women press that line dail...

re: Has anybody found anybody worth a Shite on online dating sites? - Halftrack on 10/23/16 at 4:05 pm My objection is that I think that if a woman is on a dating service, she's probably looking at multiple other dudes too. If not, then something is wrong with her, so why should I be considering her? In Laffy; BR; N.O.; I don't think it's big enough to get a decent pool of women. Houston & Atl...

Halftrack Posted on 10/17/16 at 12:10 pm Unmarried People: how much fun do you have? I read the Disneyland thread about all the happily married couples doing fun date nights together. What about the single OTers? 1. How old are you; 2. Been married before? 3. How long how many times? 4. Do you date? 5. What do you do for fun? Me: 1. 43 2. Yes 3. Once, 11 years 4. Sometimes. It's a lot of trouble and work. I like freedom 6. Fish, hunt, hang out with friends
gee i can't imagine why you're alone!

You sure spend a lot of time looking up someone who you don't even know on an internet website. And make erroneous assumptions about them to boot!
And, you even have time to post a cute little video of somebody you are not.
I'm not gay and don't want to be your little masturbation fantasy, so you will have to keep using your imagination.
Keep putting your money in the market son. It will never go down. :) Funny I didn't see this because I was on my yacht all day, purchased with money from little rumpkins like you who think they can time the market. Keep thinking that.
My post was from 11/16 predicting what the market will do IF Trump was elected. He was, my prediction still stands. But you will never see it because greed is blind. That greed keeps me making money that YOU put into the market.
In fact, go ahead and buy some more - I am eying a new radar system for my boat and your money will come in handy. Check back with me in 9-12 months and see what you used to have, and what I have.
Funny how I can spell it out and still greed erases doubt. Emotional response to stocks is why I am rich, and you have time to play on the internet.
So you keep on believing son, keep on believing.

Days like those, keep an eye on volatility. Initial high volume spike, followed by no real news to support initial 'news' story, ends up giving us volatility unwind and nice energy to move higher. Imagine how many volatility buyers and market shorts got stuck and roasted on that news? Especially if you are an international market participant who can't spot US media bullshite as well.

There is no constitutional crisis.

Political parties are not important. Anyone who gets the requisite signatures and pays the fees per state can run for president and be on that states ballot. No political party is necessary.
