I'm talking about actual talent on the team. 2011 wins that going away. Just look at who moved on to the NFL from each team.

2006 team:
-Jamarcus Russell (1st round)
-Dwayne Bowe (1st)
-Craig Davis (1st)
-Laron Landry (1st)
-Glenn Dorsey (1st)
-Chevis Jackson (3rd)
-Jacob Hester (3rd)
-Early Doucet (3rd)

2011 team:
-Morris Claiborne (1st)
-Michael Brockers (1st)
-Keke Mingo (1st)
-Eric Reid (1st)
-Kevin Minter (2nd)
-Reuben Randle (2nd)
-Brandon Taylor (3rd)
-Bennie Logan (3rd)
-Tyrann Matheiu (3rd)
-Sam Montgomery (3rd)

I mean, it's pretty close either way. Both teams would have good arguments. I suppose you could say 2011 had more guys that have flourished in the NFL, but that doesn't necessarily equate to their production while at LSU. For example, Jamarcus is one of the best QBs in LSU history, regardless of how his NFL career turned out.

You missed a few
- OBJ (1st)
- Jarvis Landry (2nd)
- Lamin Barrow (5th)
- Alfred Blue (6th)
- Ron Brooks (4th)
- Lael Collins
- Lavar Edwards (5th)
- Ego Ferguson (2nd)
- Kevin Minter (2nd)
- Tharold Simon (5th)
- Spencer Ware (6th)

And that's not including others that were UFA like Russell Shepard and Brad Wing

I was mostly focusing on guys drafted in the first few rounds who were key players on those teams.

Jarvis Landry caught 4 passes in 2011. Not sure you can use guys like that as an example of how talented the 2011 team was. I'll give you OBJ though (40+ catches in 2011).

Who was better than them in 07?

No one.

There was no truly dominant team in 2007, but there's no argument that LSU wasn't the best. They earned it by whipping both the ACC and Big 10 champs.

And I say that as a UGA grad. We had lots of people who said UGA deserved to be in the NC game. My response was "Sorry, when you lose a game 35-14, you don't deserve to go to the NC game."

Except if you're Oklahoma, apparently....

2011 team was easily more talented than 2006.

LSU's offense was easily more talented in 2006. Defense is a wash. 2011 probably has a little edge. Offense puts 2006 on top.

I was at that game. The Jort's were feeling feisty that day. They were all fired up on the walk back to the car and I didn't know if we were gonna make it out of Gainesville alive.

I was walking around with a can of beer and a cop came walking up. He said he knew it was different in BR so he told me to just pour it in a McDonalds cup and it wouldn't be a problem.

2011 defense >>>>>>> 2006 defense

2006 pass offense >>>> 2011 pass offense because of Jamarcus

2011 run offense >>>>> 2006 run offense

Remember when he gave that bama player 5 after he threw a game winning TD. Love him for that.

You missed the main f**k up in that game. Anybody remember the few plays before Russell fumbled on the 1 yd line where Hester clearly crossed the goalline to score that would have put LSU up 14-0 and in complete control?. They reviewed the play over and over and it clearly showed Hester to be in the endzone but of course the refs pulled another Auburn and said he was down at the 1.
