If my family wasn't here, I wouldn't step foot in this shite hole.

Where you're from plays a role in who you are, like it or not. If you don't like where you're from...that says more about you than it does the place.

I was born and raised in Louisiana and I live in Allen now. All of these posters who say "just get the hell out baw" are really sad. You can't just be objective about how shitty Louisiana is? I know plenty of people that live there that can't wait to get the hell out because of crime, economy, etc...
Now you are a true Texan. Yeee haw! Shouldn't you be posting on the Texas Longhorn or the Dallas Cowboy message board, right Texan man.

What a dumbass. Do you realize LSU has fans across the country?

I think it's important for everyone to like where they live, you only get one life so choose what makes you happy.
On the flip side the people that have to put down other areas in these threads to justify how great their city is probably aren't happy. It's pretty much the same ones in every thread

Exactly. These threads are probably the most common in the OT even though the subject is entirely subjective. I prefer mid sized cities where it doesn't get too cold and where it's not overly controlled by Democrats. I hate Houston (the city, not the burbs). Some people on here claim it's the greatest city in the country.

I wonder how many folks have thought about retiring in LA?
I was born here, lived out of state twice for jobs, moved back
Can't see retiring here- too expensive to live here when you consider roi

Probably not many that aren't from here. I've also lived out of state twice and didn't love it either time. I moved to the wrong places for the wrong reasons. I'd like to retire somewhere where there are four seasons but where it doesn't get brutally cold. Maybe somewhere in NC or TN.

Shut your Texan mouth. Texas and Cowboy fans live across the country too. But you are lucky b/c they are in your home state of Texas. Go eat a burrito and enjoy your concrete, chain restaurants, and mini mall.......Texan man.

Why would someone live here by choice?
You made the choice to move back. Why?

I won't live in LA my entire life but it's the best place for my family right now so here I am.
Probably give somewhere else a shot again when my kids are in college. Retirement is so far away I'm not even thinking about that.

Why do you care if people you don't even know are fat?

Yes because Louisiana isn't full of chain restaurants and fast food burrito places
It's okay, the first step is admitting how bad reality is

These are everywhere. Good luck finding a state that isn't full of them
Or you can eat at the hip trendy place selling you food service crap with a fancy name
