Teddy gave the first round to him

Manny definitely won the next two

I had it that way just watching with no commentary early on

If this fight was in New Orleans instead of Brisbane, in the late 70's when boxing was big here, and it was somebody like Sugar Ray Leonard (USA USA), vs some older Mexican champ like Alexis Arguello, you SURE Arguello gets all those early rounds?
Cuz I'm not.

Again, look at it in a different light- Horn was 16-0-1, HE'S the big draw that brought 50+ thousand folks in, and he's facing a NAME, a guy who, the caption read, was 5-3 in his last 8 fights.

Manny wasn't the favorite here, he had to win in dominant fashion, or he wouldn't get the decision.

We just didn't understand that, since we don't give boxing any love anymore, and we knew Paccquio's name.
But everything about this fight was laid out to coronate Horn as champ.
And he pushed Manny around, didn't get knocked out, landed a couple shots, and generally made a good accounting of himself.

There are some old-timers that would say this wasn't as bad as the Sugar Ray- Marvin Hagler fight. History books tell you Sugar won. Giddy announcers at the time said Leonard showed the heart of a champion.
Hagler was so stunned and disgusted by the decision that he left the country, and rarely talked about boxing afterwards.

Yes Hagler was stunned etc. But that decision was correct- Sugar Ray won that fight.
