On a serious note, this always interests me:
People often talk about how the bible isn't supposed to be literal and instead it's supposed to teach values truth parable. But they seldom talk about what specific values it's supposed to teach. Most of the parables can be described as morally confused at best. My favorite example is Job, what's the lesson? Be nice to authority that mistreats you? Don't doubt God? Your neighbors are always wrong? You can interpret it many different and contradicting ways.
So what values does the bible actually teach?
