Ok, "all star" NBA player. Livingston was a "journeyman" NBA player post-injury. He probably would have been a "solid" NBA player if no injury, maybe even an "All-Star". He probably would not have been an "all-time great" like MJ, Bird, Magic, or LeBron. Smart is still a promising, 6'4" PG. If he works hard he should one day be a "solid" NBA player.

There. I think I've established the necessary level of precision in this conversation. But, please, feel free to suggest changes. We want to make sure we get this absolutely right.

No need to get your panties in a wad. You asked why he was laughing at you and my response is the answer.

Randy Livingston shared national player of the year honors with Kidd, then AGAIN with Rasheed Wallace the following year, so there's a good chance he would have been every bit as good. I think it was Dale Brown who made a comment to the effect that one day Livingston would be one of those guys referred to by using one name (e.g., if you say Michael or Magic or Larry, everyone knows who you are talking about). Pre-injury, of course.
Looking forward to watching Wade's group take the floor. My son will be at LSU in another year and he's a huge basketball fan, so I'm glad he'll have a front row seat to LSU's return to greatness on the court.
