The concern I have is not how many three stars we have but how many top committed recruits we have at the moment. I know we are in the running for a few 5 stars but we also know how a lot of those pan out as well. Last year our average was at 91.4, this year is 88.4 (only 2 recruits in the top 200). Still a long year to go, I'm sure O and co will finish the class off strong
You are comparing LSU's final 2017 ranking to the current one in June. It's not an accurate comparison. Even if no one moved up in ranking and we signed Surtain and Marshall, the composite would jump quite a bit. It's way too early. We just have to let this play out. Between O, Austin Thomas, Meatball and Robinson, we will do just fine before all is said and done.

Yep I think he just countered his argument without even knowing it lol. This thing is not over far from it. If we landed 2 high 90s guys like Surtain and Marshall our average would jump to around 91 in June lmao.
This staff will NOT magically stop evaluating talent and if some guys fail to develop you will likely see a tweet that's says something like this, "after many discussions with my parents and prayers I have decided that reopening my recruitment is best for me and my family". Have a long ways to go yet peeps.

BTW, we have 2 5Stars and 2 4Stars already committed for 2019. We are the only team with 2 5Star commits at this point.

This will end up a top 15 class.

I already know, I'm not one bit concerned. Recruiting is so fluid, some will rise, some will fall, some won't even be here, and we'll add new names. I mean even if we had a full class now, I would bet 5 or more wouldn't be here by the end of it and we would have 5 or more new names at the end.
Out of the class we have now there will probably be 3 that don't make it for what ever reasons. LSU will garner more attention during the season as it plays out then so will recruits that have yet to play their senior seasons or camp then you have visits so there's a ways to go.
The only thing people should be concerned with is how hard this staff is working on the recruiting trail. It's a damn fine job. They are apparently busy which is what you want. HTT

Just give it time, the averages will come up as the players get bumped. I could easily see us beat last year's 91.4.

8 of the 13 have already been bumped to 4 stars in the ESPN 300. These same 8 will all be bumped per Dixon on 247.
This is all before their senior year. I'm sure some of them will fall in the rankings, but I expect the majority to continue to move up. Long way to go til signing day...

That kid was vastly under rated.

Everyone is not shiteing on O because of three star recruits , they are shiteing on him over a 3-21 record in the SEC as the HC running his own program.

Exactly. So take that shite to the coaching changes board.

Harping on Orgeron's Ole Miss record while overlooking his interim record at two high profile programs (both under very adverse circumstances) is just as naive as the Herman fans focusing on Herman beating OU and Louisville but overlooking him getting beat by UConn, SMU, Navy, and Memphis. They also overlook the fact that most of his wins were against creampuffs like Tulane, Lamar, Texas State, Tulsa, etc.
And Hillary won the popular vote. So what.

What people don't realize is that recruiting rankings depend on two things besides actual talent.
1. How many offers you have. The more offers you have the more interest you bring to their site. On top of that they can rank you high and say look at all the schools that want him they can't all be wrong. See Priest Willis, Max Browne, Asante Wullard, Chris Davenport.
2. How early you commit.
It's hard to sell subscriptions to multiple sites with a kid who has been committed for over a year. Guice decommited from LSU at a point because his ranking was dropping. Then he played like he was interested in Bama and his ranking went back up.
The recruiting services want guys that have a bunch of offers and can't decide on a school to be ranked higher, they come with more stories; which means more subscriptions.
Once upon a time everyone cried because we only have 12 commits at this time. Once upon a time everyone cried about kids still taking trips to other schools or putting %'s on how committed they are. Now you all are crying because we have too many recruits and they aren't ranked where you want.
I guess you all are going to find a reason to complain about something

Sure why not.
Okay, going by the composite you have under 5, I have over, and exactly 5 is a push. What is the price?
