Is, and I like it better than Domino's.

Cool guy. Heard a rumor that BJ's Pizza was founded by his brother.
Johnny's pizza was absolutely garbage though.
ETA:
I have. I had it when I went to ULM for a few years. Would rather eat Little Caesar's than Johnny's.

People that don't "get" why we think it's so good simply never had the pleasure of having a Johnny's at their convenience.

If you where lucky you had johnny pizza back in mid to early 70's. That was when they made the best pizza, there where only 3 at the time. Knew johnny for over 43 years. He was a great guy.

I loved the Johnny's Pizza they had in Baker in the 80s, and I eat the buffet for lunch on Staring every chance I get.

My grandmother lived on the edge of West Monroe. I had a bike that I left there and would ride to the Warren Drive location once a week. At Drew elementary we would get a coupon for a free 8" cheese for all sorts of things.
This is back when you could take $2 in quarters and keep yourself occupied for an hour.
Lots of good memories of Johnny's.

Johnny's was the first pizza I ever had. Still my favorite. Could eat the Sweep the Kitchen everyday if I wasn't worried about weighing 400 pounds. Mr. Huntsman was a very generous man and really supported a lot of causes in north Louisiana. RIP, Johnny.

Sweep The Kitchen
Sweep The Swamp
Oh my, Yes Please - that lunch buffet has probably led to my health issues.
That cheese sauce - lovely
That crust - perfection
Those thin slices - all night long and then some in the morning
Mr. Huntsman, you will be missed.

I got to know him when he had just the one store across from Filhoil Hall back in the early 70s. Got to be such a regular customer that they would put my order on as soon as I walked in. Would get my anchovy pizza, go back to Filhoil and get to enjoy my pizza alone.
I know the feeling. I called so often that when I gave my order the person on the phone would say "you're the guy in 506 Olin, right?"

Went back to La and had a Johnny's for the first time in about 10 years fully expecting it to be crap after tasting the pizzas of the world, assured that my childhood memories were a lie and my Johnny's love was based on nostalgia.
I was wrong. It was as delicious as ever. Cheap, greasy and ugly, but delish.

I don't like the new signs though. Bring back the old signs.

Johnny Huntsman was a fine gent.
He helped many a kid get through college at NLSC, NLU, ULM.
He also supported the university unconditionally.
R. I. P. Johnny, and thanks for all you did and for your great pizza.
Screw all you haters who don't have a clue.
