LSU Baseball team just climbed over many projected ahead of them, and finished second in the Nation in the CWS! People are mourning the teams disgrace? These young men fought hard, too hard to please such a fan base. I know most are silently fuming at their infantile tantrum throwing fellow fans. But enough! Celebrate that one step from the top on the podium, and bask in the glow of the Silver medal this year. Many thanks to all of the players, most of whom had only partial scholarships, and gave it their best usually, if not always. But, no one can do it always. My apologies to so many fans who are throwing their positive thoughts out, and wishes for better next year.

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game.

Dude, your goal is to win a national championship every year, not finish second. If you're happy with second then you're happy with participation trophies too. Gtfo

This team exceeded my expectations for this season. Going from losing midweek games to being two wins from a national title.

Thank you goes out to Alex, Jared, and Kramer Robertson. Those young men carried the water this year. Wish every tiger player a great summer and well wishes for their futures beyond baseball.

Bottom line- we got there. Not like we were totally outgunned or outclassed. We got there on hitting, scoring and fielding. All failed to show the last 2 nights. Sux when you leave your best attributes in the dugout.

I will miss Kramer's great play, leadership, etc. but I will not miss the Kim Mulkey sightings and the shoes / hair talk.

Best of luck to Kramer. Great Tiger.

Congratulations on making it to the National Championship Game! I'm sure you hate losing as much as we do. But thank you for your hard work and Dedication to LSU! Geaux Tigers

The whole Kramer attention this was always stupid. He didn't wear all those different shoes because he wanted ESPN to talk about him. He wore them because he liked them. So stupid.

Dude, lsu fans are happy right now.. they get to talk about firing CPM again

On a serious note, not enough people are giving Florida credit for playing two days of almost mistake free baseball

These young men played their hearts out. They represented LSU extremely well. I couldn't be any more proud of them than I am now. No doubt about it......you're Champions in my mind. What an absolutely amazing performance by some gutsy young men?

Thanks for the memories!!

My 7 year old got a participation trophy and told me it just means they sucked! I'm sure these 18-20 year olds don't see it that way!

Nobody is happy with second place. Everyone wants to be a champion. That should be the only goal and the focus 100% of the time. But for the people wanting to fire Paul and then tearing down kids who played their balls off to even be in this position; those "fans" are absolutely insane. Take that noise somewhere else

I don't think you will find anyone who is not thrilled with how the 2017 team exceeded all expectation (both pre-season, and mid-season). Sure, Tiger fans consider a trip to Omaha a birthright, but they also acknowledge that you have to be doing a lot of things right to get there.

The main issue is after all of the good that LSU did getting to the Championship series, they did almost none of those things in the Series. Can some of those "failures" be attributed to Florida's great pitching? Absolutely! But the Florida pitchers were not committing LSU's errors, or running the bases for LSU when it was routinely running itself out of innings.

Against OSU in the two elimination games, LSU looked relaxed and OSU looked tight as frick. It was the reverse in the Championship Series. It's not that they lost (although, that does sting and is disappointing) - it's HOW they lost.
