SIAP on the Money board where a guy and his neighbors don't speak. Not because they hate each other but apparently they just have never spoken.

We live next to people who don't really come out and speak. I've seen this in many other occasions with other friends. What is it about being neighbors that it's so common to not be on speaking terms with them? One would think that given the proximity neighbors would be among the closest relationships one would have. This has always puzzled me. Does anyone have an answer to this phenomenon?

Are we neighbors?

But seriously I could see that if one's neighbors are just plain detestable this being the case. But in most cases they're just normal humans like ourselves.

I have keys to several of my neighbors houses. We look out for one another.

I drop off margaritas when I make large batches. I get food in return. Last was home made pulled porn with buns, sauce and chips!

We do not spend a lot of time at each other's places but do visit outside when occasion arises.

Yes, absolutely. We even have keys to houses for two of our neighbors.

All-in-all, we're close with about 10 of our neighbors.

And we all look out for one another.

2 of them, yes, as they are wonderful people. We hang out often.

The one I'm front of me is a fat POS cop that doesn't keep his yard up and has 3 dogs that bark constantly. frick him.

I wouldn't say that we are friends, but we are casual acquaintances. If we happen to be in the yard or driveway, we say hello. He was a football player for Ole Miss years ago, so every 6 months or so, we talk about SEC athletics, but that is about it.

I think when you live in neighborhoods, you maintain a little separation by default to keep from irritating the shite out of one another.

One yes, one definitely not.

The not is very fond of his boat stereo. Thought he was going to rattle the mortar out of my brick one day. We had a few words over that.

He's been a bit less fond of it since thankfully.

I hang out with my neighbors almost every weekend. My wife and I both get along with them. They have kids the same age as us so that helps.

I am friends with both neighbors and know most of the people on my block.
The only ones I don't know are the scared 70 year olds who never come outside.
