'Dunkirk' to be Christopher Nolan's shortest film since his directorial debut

It's only one hour and 47 minutes long. That running time includes credits so really this film only has about 90 minutes of actual footage

I'll be there night #1. Aside from that Dark Knight Rises travesty, Nolan has easily been the best director of the last decade.

At first I was surprised to read that but then I remembered that there isn't much dialogue in this movie. Probably going to be an intense 90 minutes of nonstop action.
Maybe Fury Road style but more serious since it's based on a true story from WWII?

If this is truly only about the evacuation, it is a pretty straightforward event. A 1 hr 47 min runtime seems appropriate.

Good. I'm tired of every summer movie having to be 2 1/2 hours or longer.

Every piece of news on this film gets a RollTide post
"Dunkirk Casts Seagull named Buddy" - Thread!
"Water Used in Dunkirk is Real Water!" - Thread!
"Nolan Had Gummy Bear Addiction During Filming of Dunkirk" - Thread!
Edit: Ok, Ok not just RollTide but we have one thread for each Trailer reveal, one for the reveal of the reveal of the trailer in Rogue One, one RT thread on plot structure, prologue, etc.

It's been 3 years since I've seen the movie but let me see how many of these I can remember.
The big one, first and foremost is Batman escaping a nuclear blast w/ less then a minute left in the middle of the ocean.
Sending an entire police force underground for 1 guy? Probably one of you dopes running the police force there. Then to top that off, they stay down there for months? Lmao
They spent how long in the movie fortifying Gotham to make sure no one got in and Bruce Wayne with no money, no help, just pops up on the island "because he's Batman"?
JGL knows Bruce Wayne is Batman because.... they're both orphans? No nothing, he just has a hunch. Give me a goddamn break.
Batman is the ultimate strategist, there's no move he doesn't make that he doesn't think on or consider the consequences. So the first fight he has w/ Bane, Bane kicks his arse, he's too strong, darkness doesn't phase him, so on and so forth. Well for the second fight outside City Hall, Batman..... goes fist to fist with him again? And the only reason he wins is because he lands a lucky shot to his mask.
Bane breaks his spine and he recovers because some chiropractor in this hole in the ground punches him in the back and voila? He's cured?
The CIA being lazy and unprofessional as all hell in the opening, yeah no just load these masked prisoners on my plane. We don't need to see who they are or anything.
The mayor is attending a public football game and Bane just walks right out onto the field, no nothing, no security, no one to maybe think, "Hey, this masked terrorist is just waltzing on the field, cool".
JGL shoots a bad guy and instantly throws his gun away, he's a cop, what exactly does he think guns do? I get that he's upset w/ himself but it was a baddie who was trying to kill him. I'm not even gonna get into a cop tossing his sidearm away and just leaving it for someone to find.
Do I need to go on?
