Doing an interview for a management position for a retail store located in Burlington, NC. Since I haven't did the interview yet, I don't know an exact pay yet, but the average for the position is $44,800.

I have a wife and 2 kids (5 & 2). I've did a little research into the place, but wanted to see if there were anyone who either lived near there or has family in the area.

Is it a good school district? Nice area? Stuff for families to do? Should i look at some surrounding areas instead?

It's a good move, schools are head and shoulders in NC compared to Louisiana. Good luck.

You'll be close to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western NC. Asheville and Boone are both great weekend destinations for you and your family.

Some background; my director is getting a new store in the area, and he has strongly pushing me to go with him. I have an interview with the district manager, but my director has stated he wants to hire me and I just have to not blow my interview.

So it is not a lock to get the position, but it is a good enough shot that I get the position that I should do my research.

This. The pay seems low for a relo situation but if it aligns with your current budget and you can make it work, I would go for it. That's a nice part of the country and I think you'll find a good quality of life for your family there.

Decent area near Elon College. Greensboro is the largest big town. Burlington has some low income, so youll want to research schools.
