Besides the new IPA what else is in store? Also, are they retiring Irish Channel Stout as well as Mecha?

I really wish they'd step up their game. They're so meh.

Hard to beat what Parish, Great Raft, and Gnarley Barley are doing. NOLA does dark beer pretty well, wish they'd can Prytania Porter.

I'd put their No.4 up against some if the best IPAs in the state. They just don't seem to mass produce their best stuff.

NOLA is overall the best taproom experience in the state when considering quantity and quality of beer, availability of experimental and one off beers, physical space (indoor, outdoor, patio, good A/C in the summertime). and food (McClure's is killer). I don't go as much as I used to but I can always try a flight of new beers.

I also agree that several other state breweries have better on the shelf products. But I doubt they are losing money over this.

Their Funk series is their best offering, IMO.

Came here to say this, they are turning out some great Sours, just not a huge market here.

I haven't heard anything about retiring Irish Channel Stout as I think they do pretty well with that one. Mecha is definitely getting switched out for an 00-series beer.

You can't argue on the tap room experience being the best in the state, as well as that sour program being quite strong.

I really used to like NOLA blonde but I think my tastebuds are progressing and it doesn't do it for me like it used to.

That is a very fair point. I wasn't thinking of their Funk stuff. You are right.

Last time I was there (3/4 weeks ago) the 004 wasn't even available in the Taproom. It's really strong.

NOLA's tap room is awesome, that is for sure.

They can make sours on par with crooked stave.
00x IPA series as others mentioned are some of the best IPAs in the city

The taproom is huge and comfortable along with 24 taps that rotate weekly...you can argue the beers they distribute are meh but unfortunately, the New Orleans market is still 95% BMC. They put on the shelf what pays the bills. Their sours despite the high quality are collecting dust at the beer stores.

I haven't found this to be true.

Me either, I usually grab a few bottles if I see it in stores, but it doesn't typically last long. I mean, it's not shitlorded like the latest juicy IPA, but I don't see them around for long periods of time.

You're probably right on those limited releases...But they've been selling the Ocho 8th Anniversary Ale for almost 4 months now, and they've only got 62 check-ins on untappd. I see at the brewery every weekend but no one's buying it. It's damn good too.

It's become intolerable. I love a good beer, who doesn't, but you have to ask yourself how much is too much.

That would be surprising but lots of micros are pumping out quality porters and stouts.
