Terron Armstead

Left tackle obviously is a big deal and TA has not always been healthy. Backups to him are just OK too. Wonder what the plan is if TA can't stay healthy? Maybe Ryan Ramczyk one day?
"To date, Saints left tackle Terron Armstead’s career has been inconsistent to say the best. When he’s been on the field he’s been brilliant but injuries have limited those opportunities of late.
At the 2013 NFL Combine, he set the current record for a 40 time run by an offensive lineman at 4.71 seconds. Not bad for a tight end, much less an athlete in a 6-foot-5, 306-pound frame.
New Orleans took the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff product in the 3rd round of that draft.
Since being named the team’s starter near the end of the 2013 season, Armstead has yet to play a full 16-game slate. He played through nagging injuries in 2016 before being placed on IR in December.
Following a 2015 in which he was named the third best left tackle in the NFL by Pro Football Focus, expectations for Armstead have been off the charts. But the injuries seem to keep popping up"

Saints LT Terron Armstead remains absent from Thursday's final minicamp practice after leaving Wednesday's practice early with an unspecified issue. The good news is the Saints aren't due back in the practice field for another six weeks, when training camp kicks off. Armstead is arguably one of the two or three most talented players on the roster and he is overdue for a healthy season.

i'm getting tired of hearing about him being hurt. he was hurt all year, then got shut down early, had an entire offseason to recover and still can't do ANYTHING at minicamp?

That's why I brought it up. Need some stability at that position. Updated espn link with current status too.

I'll be happy if we can get 12 games out of him. Also, it's minicamp. They'll shut him down if his toenail hurts.

Have a feeling this was a big reason we went tackle at 32. Don't trust him to hold up all season which sucks.

Ramdude pick looking better and better at this point.

He was in and out of OTAs as they wanted to limit his reps, and he was out there for day one of minicamp but disappeared without coming back (I think it was day one but maybe day two).
He was definitely practicing up to that point, but when a guy disappears and doesn't come back it's not usually good news.

Yeah, he has been hurt ever since he signed the huge extension.

Really sucks, because Armstead is a great player.

I thought about throwing a blueslover reference in there

It's almost like players wait for mini camp to all of a sudden get 'hurt'.
1) Sign with Saints
2) Get paid
3) Play hurt
