The accident happened at Nob Hill Road and Southwest 57th Street, CBS4 reported. Broward County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Mike Jachles spoke to the driver, who told him that the creepy crawly was spinning a web above her head before it decided to come down onto her body.

I would have probably done the same.

I'm a guy and I did damn near the same thing one time when I had a pissed off wasp in the car with me. Some people have very visceral reactions to that. I don't like biting and stinging insects and stuff. I'll lose my shite in a heartbeat, I admit it.

Did they get the spider or did the firemen just blow the car up on arrival?

I ran out of my truck at the red light on highland once when a wasp flew inside it via my rolled down windows. I'm not afraid to admit that wasps terrify me.

Sure, there was a "spider" in her car...

Story time:
Back in college a friend of mine was driving with his windows and sunroof open (Mazda RX-7). He was merging from Sullivan Road on to Greenwell Springs Road in Central. A wasp got sucked in the car from the sunroof and into his shirt.
He didn't notice the wasp when it entered the vehicle. Didn't notice it when it flew in to his shirt. Not when it proceeded to crawl further in.
No, he noticed it when it had crawled in to his shorts and stung him on the balls!
He went from calmly merging on to Greenwell Springs to being in intense and unforeseen crotchal pain with his foot pegging the accelerator to the floorboard. He went screaming across GWL SPNGS (literally and figuratively) almost launching across the median in to St. Alphonsus, barely missing the curb and getting the car to stop before running the red light at Frenchtown.
TLDR: Wasps are assholes.

Confession:
Hate red wasps more than any living object on the planet. It's my one phobia I guess... in my teens, I rolled up in my driveway and was sitting for a second talking with my passenger. Car not in park, foot on brake. As you can visualize, a wasp flew in my window and landed on my stomach. I immediately bail and my 1986 Mustang GT - being a top fuel dragster of course - urges forward and through the bottom panels of our garage door.

Not shocked. If it was a wasp. I'm driving that bitch into the bayou to drown it.

I know exactly where that happened. Really hard to hit a pole there, props to her.
I've had a few spiders in my car. Everything my heart races like they're going to launch out at me.

Was anyone else hoping for a video of the incident, including the freak out?

crotchal pain
Is that a real thing?

I was mountain biking once and ran through a spider web that had babies on it. I was trying to slow down without panicking as they were crawling all over my face.
But then one ran across my fricking eyeball and that's when I let go of the bars and wrecked into some bushes.

Similar thing happened to me. Minding my own business, I was driving the interstate in Jackson in 1999 when a wasp decided to embark on a kamikaze machine to infiltrate the open window and set up shop in my shirt, gleefully content to sting me over and over and over on my chest until I was able to crush it.
Like the creatures from the Alien franchise, some living things exist just to deliver evil to humankind.

So, she was cool with the web spinning right above her head before it came down?

Zach Hess, on the other hand, pitches like a demon when a spider crawls on him.

i almost did the same thing early morning on my way to work last week. Luckily i had plenty of room to swerve and no cars near me, because i felt that little bitch on my arm and swatted at him.
The best though was when i used to smoke cigarettes, and sometimes if your lips are really dry the cigarette can kind of get stuck to your lips...well on a few occasions i'd go to remove the cigarette and it would stay sort of stuck in my mouth and my fingers would slide down towards the cherry finally removing the cigarette while burning the shite out of my fingers. You drop the cig, usually lands in your lap, and then attempt to fricking find it knowing it's burning a whole in your seat, pants, floorboard or whatever while driving 50mph down the road.
