Older people seem much more into social media than young people. People my parents' age are obsessed with Facebook, whereas younger family members (18-19) have told me none of them have Facebook. Instagram has more businesses than anything else, but then you have instagram girls trying to make money for being hot. I wouldnt say this describes the typical young person either.

SnapChat is big with young people but it also isn't something you can spend hours on like Facebook was.

In fact, when around family members who are currently college students, they use their phone for texting.. Which isn't social media.

I'd feel better saying social media has had an effect on all people moreso than just young people. Many old folks have no idea how to behave online, so you end up with the cancer that is comments sections in articles.

That's because the younger demographics have left facebook because they think it's for "old people."

Snapchat and Instagram, among others, is where you'll find the younger (16-24 or so) age groups.

Doing what I do for a living it boggles my mind these idiots will put so much of their life details out in public. That's going to bite them in the arse one way or another down the road.

No way. If you only included Facebook, maybe. When you include all social media, no way in heck.
